Tim Curnen has worked extensively as a screenwriter, film editor, and film teacher. He has written screenplays for 20th Century-Fox, Universal Pictures, Interscope Communications, Walt Disney Productions, New World Pictures, Ed Pressman Films and others. His titles include Forbidden World for New World Pictures, Ghost Warrior for Empire Productions, and Supreme Warrior, a full-motion video interactive game for Digital Pictures (BIMA Gold Medal winner for Best Game of the Year).
In the editing room, Tim served as co-editor of The Rehearsal, directed by Jules Dassin (with Melina Mercouri, Laurence Olivier, Maximilian Schell and Olympia Dukakis), editor of the award-winning documentary Inside Out Saving Our Urban Upper Schools, directed by Jack Robertson for the Ford Foundation/PBS, several projects (as assistant editor and sound editor) for the Maysles Brothers, and others.
Tim was the writer/co-developer of several special-venue mixed-media productions with White Oak Associates, including The World of Shakespeare (Stratford-Upon-Avon, England) with the Royal Shakespeare Company, major installations at the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh, Exploration Place in Wichita, and the Bunker Hill Pavilion in Boston, among others.
In recent years, Tim was an Associate Professor of Screenwriting at the USC School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles. Previously, he taught filmmaking extensively at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts and the UCLA Extension Writers' Program, where he was honored with the Outstanding Instructor Award for his screenwriting classes. Tim retired in 2019, and now divides his time between Los Angeles and Carmel Valley, California.
