- Rupert is one of the few engineers to have experienced all three incarnations of AIR Studios, having started at AIR's legendary Oxford Street studio in 1987, having a brief stint at AIR Montserrat and ultimately moving with us to AIR Studios Lyndhurst where he joined the AIR Management roster.
Over the years he has worked with many of the world's finest producers, composers, and artists including Sir George Martin, The Rolling Stones, Portishead, and Craig Armstrong. His experience spans from full orchestral recordings to film scores to less traditional scores such as Ex-Machina, Annihilation, MEN, and Civil War for Geoff Barrow & Ben Salisbury, and Dredd for Paul Leonard Morgan.
Rupert has a long-standing collaborative working relationship with composer Max Richter, having worked together on scores including Hostiles, White Boy Rick, My Brilliant Friend, Mary Queen of Scots, and the Grammy-nominated score Ad Astra. Rupert also recorded, mixed, and Atmos mixed Max Richter's film Spaceman and album Sleep: Piano Edition.
Significant projects include engineering Matthew Margeson's score for Rocketman, engineering the choir on Hans Zimmer's blockbuster score for Dune Part 2, mixing Jon Opstad & Max Richter's The Veil, and engineering and mixing legendary French composer Michel Legrand's collaborative album with Natalie Dessay Between Yesterday and Tomorrow.
