Six years passed without a new film from director Uwe Boll, a filmmaker some would describe as infamous, while others would say he’s legendary. Then last year he made Hanau (Deutschland im Winter – Part 1), about a real-life mass murderer. Now he’s back with the police drama First Shift, and while the movie isn’t expected to be released until sometime in 2024, a trailer has already arrived online. You can check it out in the embed above.
Boll wrote, directed, and produced First Shift, which is described as being a gripping police drama with the spirit of a classic road movie, taking us on a soul-stirring journey through the vibrant streets of New York City into the depths of our own reality and the innermost corners of our souls. Immersing viewers in a high-octane adventure delving into the lives of dedicated law enforcement officers.

Amazon Prime Video’s Reacher will see a familiar face as Maria Sten returns for the action series’ second season.
Months after the streamer picked up the Alan Ritchson-fronted series for Season 2, Prime Video shared that Sten will reprise her role of Frances Neagley. Ritchson, who stars as Jack Reacher, revealed on Wednesday that the upcoming chapter seeks to cover Lee Child’s Bad Luck and Trouble, the 11th book in the Jack Reacher series. The first season was based on Child’s Killing Floor.
From writer and showrunner Nick Santora, the series follows Jack Reacher, a veteran military police investigator who has just recently entered civilian life. Reacher is a drifter, carrying no phone and the barest of essentials as he travels the country and explores the nation he once served. When Reacher arrives in the small town of Margrave, Georgia, he finds a community grappling with its first homicide in 20 years.

The Block Island Sound is a hair-raising new horror creation from Kevin and Matthew McManus, Emmy-nominated writers and producers of American Vandal and Cobra Kai, and filmmakers behind past Fantasia hits Funeral Kings and Slumlord (aka 13 Cameras).
Atmospheric, smart and compellingly character-driven, the film captures a real sense of isolation and paranoia, with an experiential feel for its environment, brought to life with striking cinematography and sound design. Sheffield, McManus, and Archambault are fantastic, joined by a strong supporting cast that includes Jim Cummings (Thunder Road), Jeremy Holm and Willie C. Carpenter (Men in Black). The Block Island Sound is at once intimate and unconventionally grandiose, delivering thrills while touching on a range of the signature worries of our times, from conspiracy theories and climate change to unpreventable familial breakdowns. Remote fishing communities have never been scarier.
Something terrifying is happening off the coast of Block Island. A strange force is thriving,...

Outcast, a gloomy new adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s horror comic book series, arrives in the UK…
This review contains spoilers.
1.1 A Darkness Surrounds Him
A Darkness Surrounds Him? No kidding. Fox’s latest Us import, adapted from Robert Kirkman’s comic book series and already renewed for a second season, is bleak stuff. As you might expect from the creator of The Walking Dead, this isn’t escapist fantasy, it’s more ‘man punches boy hard in the head to make him vomit up the devil’ fantasy.
It’s by turns unsettling and disgusting. The opening scene, in which a kid head-butts a cockroach climbing on his bedroom wall then greedily licks off the residue before chowing down on his own finger, is both. And that’s not the worst of it. The episode’s climactic exorcism is uncomfortably violent in all the ways you might expect.

Some TV and film casting news you can use... First, Lifetime's hit primetime serial Devious Maids is now in its second season, with season 2/episode 2 airing last night, introducing what looks to be a new wealthy family to the soap opera - the Millers, an African American family - who employ Rosie (the character played by Dania Ramirez) as their maid. The family is led by Kenneth Miller (Willie C. Carpenter), a post-stroke patriarch, and his dysfunctional family. Their story in a nutshell: Kenneth Miller had a stroke and doesn’t speak - he’s in a wheelchair. His wife Didi (Tiffany Hines), who is less than half his age - and an ex stripper - is constantly at war with his daughter Lucinda...

NextMovie kicks off Leprechaun Week today! Look for new "Leprechaun"-related content every day this week in the lead-up to St. Paddy's Day. Because it's what Leprechaun would have wanted ...
"I have not come to play with fruit. I just want me magic flute!"
So sayeth the ever-rhyming Irish demon played by Warwick Davis in "Leprechaun in the Hood" (2000) to the lusty cross-dressing Miss Fontaine (Lobo Sebastian). A little later, these two engage in a passionate romp under the sheets during which Miss Fontaine's cries of pain will be mistaken for gasps of orgasmic delight by at least one bewildered passer-by as the Leprechaun claims another victim.
It's astonishingly tasteless, crass and almost (almost) admirably brazen ... which kind of sums up the "Leprechaun" series in its entirety. And that's a pretty impressive entirety — there are six of the damn things in that pot of cinematic gold, after all.
