Sarah Michelle Gellar’s long-awaited return to the small screen has been cut short.

Paramount+ has officially canceled Wolf Pack ten months after its freshman finale.

The series kicked off in January 2023 and picked up with a deadly fire ravaging California.

It triggered a series of supernatural events, and a group of teenagers came together under strange circumstances.

Gellar, best known for her work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, played an arson investigator named Kristin Ramsey.

Despite spending much of the freshman season against the group of werewolves at the show’s core, the now-series finale found fans being let in on a big secret:

Kristin was also a werewolf.

Last summer’s dual Hollywood strikes were the final nail in Wolf Pack‘s coffin. According to sources, a potential second season would not have been ready for nearly two years after the conclusion of Season 1.

Paramount+’s Wolf Pack season one episode one introduced the four high school students who transform into werewolves. The season premiere confirmed their backstories were changed for the show, and instead of all four being siblings like in Edo Van Belkom’s book series, two were born that way while the other two were bitten during a devastating forest fire.

Episode two, airing on February 2, 2023, takes its title from the new backstories.

Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis is treating viewers to a new series about werewolves in the Paramount+ original Wolf Pack.

TV Fanatic got the chance to chat with Sarah Michelle Gellar (Kristin Ramsay), Rodrigo Santoro (Garrett Briggs), Chloe Rose Robertson (Luna Briggs), and Tyler Lawrence Grey (Harlan Briggs) ahead of the premiere.

Sarah, who swapped hunting vampires on Buffy the Vampire Slayer for teen wolves on Wolf Pack, was attracted to the project because of the worlds Jeff Davis creates.

"Jeff is an incredible creator in the sense that he has all these ideas, but he's open to suggestions. You don't often see that," the star and executive producer shared with TV Fanatic.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is returning to genre television in the Paramount+ original series “Wolf Pack.”

The actress, most known for her role as the vampire-slaying Buffy Summers, is returning to television as Kristin Ramsy. Ramsy is an arson investigator on the hunt for some werewolves.
