Does a closer look at the Post-it notes on Clara's bookshelf in Dark Water hint to a secret in the Doctor Who series 8 finale? Possibly...
Warning: contains spoilers for Dark Water and wild speculation for Death In Heaven. Read on at your peril.
The clues to the mysteries of Doctor Who are often hidden in plain sight. In the case of Doctor Who series 8, accepting we've done a sizeable speculation feature here, we thought it was also worth looking in detail at a huge set of clues that may have slipped everyone's mind: Clara's Post-it notes.
At the end of episode 10, In The Forest Of The Night, Danny discovered that Clara had been lying to him about travelling with the Doctor and asked to know the truth, telling Clara to “go home and think about it” before talking to him. Dark Water catches up with Miss Oswald evidently having done just that,...

Don't you find that some days that there are tasks that you meant to do but never got round to doing? Hoovering, washing up and writing thank you cards for Christmases and birthdays. They all tend to get lumped to the back of the brain in the pile of chores that's as big as a hippopotamus.
Even The Doctor finds that there are some things that are long overdue. Places to go. People to meet. When you're a busy Time Lord saving planets all the time, the little things tend to get overlooked. So having mentioned an outer space Orient Express at the end of The Big Bang, The Doctor's been somewhat distracted ever since. What with killer astronauts, Trenzalore and regeneration taking up most of The Doctor's time, it's little wonder that it's taken him until now to get round to taking Clara along for one last fling aboard the Tardis.

This week's Doctor Who may not be the strongest episode of the current run, but it leaves us with plenty to mull over...
This review contains spoilers. Our spoiler-free review is here.
8.8 Kill The Moon
"Do you come round to peoples' houses for dinner?"
It seems a shame to start with something a little downbeat, given that Mummy On The Orient Express was really quite good fun. But after that ending to Kill The Moon, we can't have been the only ones hoping for things to be picked up more directly than they were here. Just seven days ago, Clara sent the Doctor away and was bellowing at him, fed up with his patronising ways and treating her as a regular human, who just makes the same choices as everyone else. Internet fire was certainly lit.
Clearly things have happened by the time Mummy On The Orient Express starts, but...

Charlie Brooker led a Q&A panel for the upcoming third series of A Touch of Cloth at London's BFI South Bank last night (July 29).
Joined by stars John Hannah, Suranne Jones and director Jim O'Hanlon, we and other lucky guests got to hear about the filming of Too Cloth for Comfort, to air on Sky1 on August 9. Here are just a few things we learnt from the spoof cop show screening:
1. Detective TV drama research involves hours of DVD compilations
Brooker revealed that he and his team of writers spent many hours watching DVDs of different cop show staples, including morgue scenes and interrogations. "The fun thing about this is that we write it as a team," he said.
"We sit there and we get compilation DVDs made of moments from detective dramas. So we're not watching the full shows, but shattered moments, so like an hour of morgue scenes.

Frank Skinner is to make a guest appearance on Doctor Who.
The comic will star in an episode from Being Human writer Jamie Mathieson, though details of his character are yet to be announced.
"I love this show," Skinner said. "I subscribe to Doctor Who Magazine, I've got a Tardis ringtone, a five-foot cardboard Dalek in my bedroom and when I got the call saying they wanted me to read for the part, I was in the back of my tour bus watching episode three of 'The Sensorites'. I am beyond excited."
Steven Moffat - Doctor Who's lead writer and executive producer - added that Skinner has been "pitching vigorously to get into" the series "for a while".
"He's been volunteering to be 'third monster on the left' as long as I've been in this job," Moffat revealed.

Jamie Mathieson's episode of Doctor Who series 8 will guest star Frank Skinner alongside Peter Capaldi...
News
The casting news for Doctor Who series 8 is getting a little more regular now, and here's the latest: Frank Skinner has a guest role in the new series.
He's going to appear in the episode that's been penned by Jamie Mathieson for the new run. Mathieson, on his blog, wrote that "I was a stand up for a living for quite a few years. When I was trying to figure out how to do it in 1996, his first two stand up videos were part of my boot camp, so there is a nice synchronicity for me to be writing lines for him to deliver nearly twenty years later".
Skinner himself has said that "I love this show. I subscribe to Dr Who magazine, I've got a Tardis ringtone, a five-foot cardboard Dalek in...

Harold Pinter theatre; Barbican, London
Trevor Nunn began the summer by directing a heavy-handed Kiss Me Kate; he ends it by staging a star-encrusted but tepid Chorus of Disapproval. What a waste. Of Alan Ayckbourn, whose 1984 play has not been taken seriously, and therefore looks unfunny. And of Nunn, who has been innovative (Nicholas Nickleby) and meticulous (his Merchant of Venice was a revelation because of its detail), and who has helped (with Gorky's Summerfolk) to widen the theatrical repertoire but is in danger of looking fusty.
Rob Brydon fans may think his performance alone is enough to justify the price of a ticket. He certainly provides the high points of the evening. As the director of the Pendon Light Operatic Society's amateur production of The Beggar's Opera, Brydon is hangdog and top dog: bullying, cardiganed, down in the dumps, overweening. He unleashes a terrific riff when, while trying out...

Sky 1 HD are continuing to announce new UK productions and their second of the day is a two-hour comedy crime drama titled A Touch of Cloth which promises to be ‘a spoof of every British crime drama made in the last decade.’ We would imagine most obviously A Touch of Frost but no doubt Taggart, Rebus, Silent Witness…. all them shows that send people to sleep and will be like a U.K. version of Police Squad.
Written by Charlie Brooker (Dead Set) and Daniel Maier (Harry Hill’s TV Burp) the one-off show will star John Hannah as the awesomely named Dci Jack Cloth a “maverick, heavy drinking loner who has thrown himself into his work following the mysterious death of his wife”, a role that he has probably played straight a few times in his career, alongside the “plucky no-nonsese” female partner DC Anne Oldman (Suranne Jones).
