Kaiju No. 8, Naoya Matsumoto’s masterpiece has been adapted into the anime series and is scheduled to release on April 13, 2024. The series has created a lot of buzz among the fans of the Kaiju No. 8 manga series who eagerly await the anime series created by Production I.G. Additionally, the series will be the first ever anime to be live-streamed on X(Formerly Twitter).

Recently the creators of the series revealed that the famous pop rock band, One Republic will perform the ending theme of the series, while the opening theme will be created by British singer Yungblud, featuring Imagine Dragons. The revelation came as an unexpected shock to the fans of the series.

While most of the fans were happy to see the collaboration between them, others expressed disappointment and believed that One Republic and Yungblud wouldn’t be able to do justice to the series.

Carleton Carpenter, an actor whose lanky, aw-shucks cornpone good looks made him a familiar supporting presence opposite such leading ladies as Debbie Reynolds, Judy Garland and Elizabeth Taylor throughout the 1950s, died today in Warwick, New York, following years of declining health. He was 95.

His death was announced by spokesperson Kevin McAnarney.

Born Carleton Upham Carpenter in Bennington, Vermont, Carpenter served as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy during World War II, helping to build the airstrip from which the Enola Gay would later take off for its flight to Hiroshima. By the time of the 1945 atomic bombing, Carpenter had started his Broadway career with a role in David Merrick’s 1944 production Bright Boy.

Other Broadway roles would arrive in quick succession: Carpenter appeared in Three to Make Ready with Ray Bolger (1944), The Magic Touch (1947), John Murray Anderson’s Almanac (1953) and Hotel Paradiso (1957).

Carpenter’s TV and film credits developed alongside his stage career.

Exclusive: Indie distributor Abramorama has launched Abramorama Selects, a new label that will aim to shepherd global digital distribution and marketing for nonfiction feature films and TV series. As part of the new venture, it has expanded its existing partnership with Giant Pictures to make it a preferred partner, and will kick off the initiative this week with a title fitting for the music doc-focused Abramorama: Herb Alpert Is…, the John Scheinfeld-directed documentary about the music icon.

The deal means Abramorama will have access to Giant’s marketing service and support around encoding, QC, subtitling, storage and delivery. Jerry Fogel, a longtime screen actor best remembered as the beleaguered bridegroom Jerry Buell on NBC’s 1960s sitcom The Mothers-in-Law, has died, He was 83.

Fogel, who diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2008, died Monday at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo, his family announced.

The son of a Rochester, NY, movie theater owner, Fogel found his first showbiz audience in his hometown as a highly rated disc jockey for Wbbf-am, a local rock ‘n’ roll radio station. Fogel signed off in Rochester, however, when he signed up with the William Morris Agency and headed west to seek his fortune in Hollywood. His big break arrived in the form of The Mothers-in-Law, a Desi Arnaz production created by I Love Lucy writing tandem Bob Carroll and Madelyn Pugh Davis.

Each year the Academy Awards pays tribute to those actors and industryites who died during the preceding year with a heartfelt montage sequence. This year’s In Memoriam segment unspooled with John Williams’s theme from “Superman” played by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, led by Gustavo Dudamel, over photos of actors, filmmakers and many others who died between March 2018 and February 2019. Although the montage usually features the most prominent names getting slightly longer clips at the end, this year’s segment didn’t follow that tradition.

Kaye Ballard, a comic actress and singer who was a regular presence on TV for decades and starred in the late-’60s NBC comedy The Mothers-in-Law, has died. Palm Springs-area paper The Desert Sun reported that the star also known for The Girl Most Likely and a half-dozen Broadway musicals died Monday at her home in Rancho Mirage.

Ballard had appeared on a couple of TV programs when she was cast as Marge opposite Jane Powell and Cliff Robertson in the 1958 big-screen musical comedy remake of The Girl Most Likely. She would appear in a handful of movies in the ensuing decades, but TV was her go-to medium.

In 1967 she starred with Eve Arden in The Mothers-in-Law, playing half of an unconventional couple, the Buells, who was best friends with their very-straight suburban neighbors the Hubbards (Arden and Herbert Rudley). The series struggled to lure viewers in its 8:30 Sunday...

She had recently attended a screening of a documentary about her life, “Kaye Ballard: The Show Goes On,” at the Palm Springs Film Festival, according to the Desert Sun, and became ill soon after.

Ballard’s career spanned stage and screen, and she was a star on Broadway when she was paired with Arden as neighbors whose kids get married on “The Mothers-in-Law,” which ran on NBC from 1967-69 and later in syndication.

However, although sixty years have passed and it’s now 2014, the song and its lyrics fit with and foreshadow one of the industry’s newest blockbusters: Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! At least as far as I’m concerned, as the song is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of the game or its title.

She was the first black woman to headline major clubs. She was the first stand-up comedian who told stories, not one-liners, and influenced generations of comics. Yet mention her to anyone for whom the 1960s is history, not a memory, and you get a blank stare.

Whoopi Goldberg aims to correct that with "Whoopi Goldberg Presents Moms Mabley" Monday, Nov. 18, on HBO.

"I would challenge anyone to find a stand-up comic that precedes her -- male or female," Goldberg tells Zap2it.

Acknowledging there were vaudeville acts before Mabley, Goldberg says, "She was a single."

And while blacks were playing the Chitlin Circuit, Mabley did that and then broke through. In 1939, Mabley became the first woman to play the Apollo Theater for $10,000 a week, an amazing achievement and salary for the time.

For many gay and bisexual men of a certain age, the first inkling that they weren’t like other boys came on Saturday mornings from 1974 to 1976, in the form of a television show called The Land of the Lost. The show, about a father and his two children who were stranded in a mysterious land of dinosaurs, also featured vicious, but curiously slow-moving reptilian humanoids called Sleestak. Now the classic kids’ program by Sid and Marty Krofft, the producers of H.R. Pufnstuf and Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, has even been made into a feature film starring Will Ferrell, opening this Friday.

But it wasn’t just the gloriously campy-even-at-the-time nature of the show itself that appealed to gay boys. It was also the fact that it featured the role of Will, the Marshall’s handsome teenage son, played by an actor billed only as “Wesley,” but whose full name is Wesley Eure.

NEW YORK -- Former First Look Media executives MJ Peckos and Bob Myerson have teamed to launch Dada Films, a Los Angeles-based domestic theatrical distribution unit that will include worldwide sales and marketing services. Marking Dada's first pickup, the company has acquired worldwide rights to writer-helmer Rick McKay's documentary Broadway: The Golden Age, by the Legends Who Were There. Dada is eyeing an April release for the project, which follows stories of the theatrical legends of the Great White Way.
