- Maria Andergast was born on June 4, 1912 in Brunnthal, Bavaria, Germany. She was an actress, known for Skandal um die Fledermaus (1936), Das große Abenteuer (1938) and Die Wirtin von Maria Wörth (1952). She was married to Richard Häussler, Siegfried Breuer and Heinz Helbig. She died on February 14, 1995 in Lainz-Vienna, Austria.

- Brunette, dark-eyed Austrian leading lady trained for acting at the Akademie für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna under Josef Danegger. Prior to that she had studied dancing under Grete Wiesenthal. Began on stage at the Deutsches Theater in Prague and was 'discovered' for the screen by 'Louis Trenker' who cast her in Der verlorene Sohn (1934). Her popularity continued unabated during the post-war years, mainly because of her unaffected, natural 'girl next door' personality. Nicknamed 'Mariandl' (after her biggest hit song), she appeared in operettas, musical comedies, 'Heimatfilms' and romantic melodramas, in addition to performing chansons and Lieder in cabaret.
- Already in 1929, even before the final examination of her study, she was engaged at the Stadttheater Aussig where she made her debut in the play "Vater sein dagegen sehr".
