Tis the season for gift giving, but all Matlock has under her tree this year is beautifully wrapped revenge. And you already know she is going to use the extra fancy kind of ribbon.
Despite a lapse in faith during “Sixteen Steps,” it looks like Madeline will, in fact, keep her day job. That’s a fun parallel to Kathy Bates, who everyone thought was retiring after this show.
Luckily, neither was true. In the Matlock Season 1 Episode 7 promo, Madeline has her groove back and is ready to spread a little holiday cheer.
(Sonja Flemming/CBS)
It’s been a long time coming, but Matty definitely has something big planned for Jacobson Moore this season, and I’m not talking about the holidays. Although this is a great time to rewatch Kathy Bates as Mother Clause in Fred Clause alongside Vince Vaughn.

Marvel Animation has shared new details and stills for two of its most highly anticipated TV shows, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Eyes of Wakanda.
The former, according to the official plot synopsis, "is an animated series that follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming a hero, with a journey unlike we've ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots."
We also have a confirmed cast list: Hudson Thames, Colman Domingo, Eugene Byrd, Grace Song, Zeno Robinson, Hugh Dancy, and Charlie Cox. No character details are provided, though we've heard that Thames is Spider-Man, Domingo is Norman Osborn and, well, Cox is obviously returning as Daredevil.
As for Dancy, rumour has it the Hannibal star is playing Doctor Octopus. That's a fantastic casting decision and one we're sure many of you would like to see carry over into live-action.
More has been revealed about Eyes of Wakanda,...

My goodness, there are some shady individuals in the viper’s nest on Matlock Season 1 Episode 4. I know their “web of lies” is where lawyers get their mail, but this episode was downright dirty.
As far as cases of the week, the series has done a great job of delivering slam dunks at the end of every episode. However, we were living in a fool’s paradise, thinking it would be happy endings till the end of time.
Due to this hour of Matlock, there’s a good chance many viewers will never hear the words “Texas Two-Step” the same again.
(Sonja Flemming/CBS) Work Place Romances Can Be Tough In A Viper’s Nest
The case in question revolved around a widower who was suing his building due to the wrongful death of his late wife caused by Legionella. If you read the Matlock Season 1 Episode 4 Spoilers, that wasn’t news to you.

Leave it to Kathy Bates to give a tear-inducing, Oscar-worthy monologue that leaves everyone in the scene and at home speechless. She is a legend. She is Matlock.
Is it me, or does it feel like we should be further along than two episodes? So much has already happened in a show just now getting its feet wet.
Suffice it to say that Matlock is not holding back regarding the story. There will be no plot holes for Madeline Matlock. The writers aren’t leaving anything to chance.
(Sonja Flemming/CBS)
The show is already addressing the issue that was on everyone’s minds after the pilot premiered, “How is she going to keep up the ruse at a prestigious law firm?

Hopefully, everyone hasn’t missed Madeline Matlock too much, but don’t worry — that wily woman is back with Matlock Season 1, which is officially airing on its broadcast schedule!
After a groundbreaking pilot, the show premiered an encore of the first episode, so everyone should be up to date on the big twist by now! If not, watch it and meet me here in an hour.
Suffice it to say that Matlock took the broadcast world by storm and left many viewers baffled with questions. Does she get Commuter Pay for traveling into the city? I’m just kidding.
(Sonja Flemming/CBS)
The real question on everyone’s minds is, how will Madeline be able to keep up the charade at Jacobson & Moore?
Luckily, CBS has not only a promo for Matlock Season 1 Episode 2 but also a sneak peek clip!

The year 1990 was a pretty decent time for a trip to the movies, especially if you’re a self confessed gore-hound, like yours truly. There’s nothing better than sitting down in a packed movie theater, or even at home with the pet cat or a similarly cherished human, to watch some carnage on the screen. Tom Savini’s Night of the Living Dead was a fun remake of the 1968 classic, while we also got the likes of It, Tremors, Child’s Play 2, Gremlins 2, Predator 2 (there’s a theme forming here…) Killer Crocodile 2. Ok, maybe not that last one. Also, if you’re a fan of Stephen King adaptations, the year also brought the ankle smashing Misery with Cathy Bates in full on psycho mode, plus the outlandishly bad, in a good way, Frankenhooker, replete with all of its soft-core pornography and grisly images. Which brings us...

"Le's play." "Double it this time." Gravitas has unveiled an official trailer for an indie pool hall thriller titled Break, which is a rather obvious pool reference when you "break" the game at the start. This will be getting a limited theatrical release later in April, though it hasn't played at any festivals. In the film, Eli learns that his absent father was a Detroit pool hall legend. He journeys into the Detroit Pool scene, and must confront the realities and dangers of the game, along with his own demons. Michigan-native actor Darren Weiss stars as Eli, joined by Braedyn Bruner as Millie, Victor Rasuk, Jeff Kober, Patricia Belcher, Caleb Emery, Suzen Baraka, Uriah Shelton, Wendy Braun, and Rick Fitts. This looks pretty rough, but it's nice to see a pool movie again, feels like it has been a while since there was one out in theaters. Check it out.

The beloved procedural crime show "Bones" ran for an impressive 12 seasons, continuing the upward TV star trajectory for David Boreanaz after his work on shows like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel," and helping to launch Emily Deschanel to become a household name after a slew of small roles in a handful of TV shows and movies.
As the co-stars of "Bones," Deschanel and Boreanaz naturally appeared in every single episode of the series. And while viewers know guest stars didn't pop up nearly as frequently, some casual watchers may think that some of the more familiar faces might have at least popped up one time per season. But as it turns out, out of all of the guest stars who graced the series from 2005-2017, only one performer managed to make at least one appearance across all 12 seasons: Patricia Belcher, who played Caroline Julian, a federal prosecutor for the U.

This “Asking for It” review was first published June 13, 2021 from the Tribeca Film Festival.
Eschewing subtlety for in-your-face urgency, Eamon O’Rourke’s Tribeca Film Festival premiere “Asking for It” is packed with familiar faces, timely messages, and righteous fervor. Trashing the screen like “Promising Young Woman”‘s feisty Gen-z sister, it has all the makings of a solid cult favorite.
O’Rourke has thoughtfully curated an unusually strong lineup for a feature debut, both onscreen and off. Our entry into the film’s world is wide-eyed, sweet-natured Joey (co-producer Kiersey Clemons), a small-town waitress who lives with her grandparents (veterans Patricia Belcher and Wayne Dehart). A chance meeting with an old friend leads to a devastating night that threatens to destroy Joey’s soul.
The change in her demeanor is noticed by Regina, a diner regular who introduces Joey to her friends, the vigilante Cherry Bombers. All of them have...

When Bones signs off on Tuesday night, after 12 seasons on Fox, it will do so as the network’s longest-running scripted drama, having solved -- according to finale promos -- 275 cases in 246 episodes. And that prolific conviction rate may not even be the most impressive thing that the series accomplished.
Because Bones -- which was based on the life and works of real-life forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs -- did more than just stay on the air, leapfrogging more than 20 different time slots in its 12-year run. In a television landscape populated with morose antiheroes and sarcastic protagonists that often poke fun at the earnestness of cops-and-science procedurals like Bones, sometimes directly by name (see: American Dad, Bojack Horseman, Bob’s Burgers and more), the show was a champion of justice and evidence, science and guts, “brains and heart.” It told new stories every week, while at the same time unfolding its central characters little by little, making...

Bones signs off on Tuesday, after 12 seasons of crime solving, evidence examining, blood, guts and, most importantly, bones. But at the core of the long-running Fox procedural -- the “heart of the matter,” if you will -- was a partnership between forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz).
From their first episode together, Brennan and Booth’s dynamic was electric, and while the will-they-or-won’t-they of it all took nearly seven seasons to sort out (more if you count that they don’t actually tie the knot until season nine), their relationship kept fans hooked for all 245 episodes. We watched Brennan wrestle with her feelings as Booth looked for love, saw them lay it all on the line only to yank it back again, and finally, at long last, got to witness their happy ending. Two kids and countless hurdles later, they’re still going strong.

Warning: Spoiler alert! Do not proceed if you haven’t watched Tuesday’s Bones.
Bones set the stage for its series finale on Tuesday’s explosive penultimate episode, which, true to form for the long-running Fox procedural, combined the joy of a wedding with the terror of a killer on the loose. And everything ended with a bang.
The episode, titled “The Day in the Life,” flashed back and forward around the events of Cam (Tamara Taylor) and Arastoo’s (Pej Vahdat) reception, giving fans a chance to see the happy couple and all their friends and relatives -- Michelle! Felicia! Most of the old “squinterns!” -- celebrating their much-deserved bliss.
However, the honeymoon doesn’t last long, as the next morning Cam and Arastoo are summoned back to the Jeffersonian Institute’s Medico-Legal Lab, where, as Brennan (Emily Deschanel) puts it, “everything” has gone wrong.

Amazon released five new pilots on Friday, and it’s up to viewers to determine which ones get picked up. “The Legend of Master Legend,” “Budding Prospects,” “The New V.I.P.’s,” “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and “Oasis” make up the 2017 Amazon pilot season. Some are good, some are bad, but the power lies with all of us to determine which are worthy of a full season order. Read our reviews below to get a little insight into each offering, and watch the episodes for yourself right here.
“The Legend of Master Legend”
John Hawkes can’t catch a break. When he nabbed the lead in Charlie Kaufman’s FX pilot — Charlie Kaufman — it didn’t get picked up. He landed an Oscar nomination for “The Sessions,” but his follow-ups have meant diddly-squat comparatively. Sure, he stole a few scenes in “Lincoln” and got to take part in Amy Schumer’s amazing sketch,...

There is no better way to open a Bones episode than with B&B in the bedroom with Booth's tape measure (literally, he's holding a retractable tape measure) reaching for the sky. In "The Senator in the Street Sweeper," Booth wants a big screen television in the bedroom, but Brennan doesn't want his sports interfering with their sports. Ever clever Booth promises to make it worth her while. What, is it my birthday? Dang. Already I'm thinking this is the best episode of the season, which is a pretty tall order since the five we've already had have been nothing short of spectacular.
Brennan and Booth getting their grove on is only the beginning of the fun in Bones' sixth season 11 outing. The case has to do with politics and mining, which turns into a conversation about 'fracking' among the Jeffersonian crew, lending itself to all manner of interesting discussions.

Bones' episode, "The Teacher in the Books," delivers humor, heart and heroics in spades. The tale of a fiercely dedicated teacher, a tender-hearted attorney with an underprivileged past, and a forensic anthropologist determined to dominate current social media channels has made it's way into my top 20 favorite Bones episodes of all time.
Though there are many fine performances in this 202nd episode, three truly stand out. First, Jessica Warren (Laura Spencer), Brennan's somewhat overbearing squintern with the unsinkable confidence and spunky attitude, is delightful without being gloaty as Brennan's Twitter mentor. Second, Aubrey (John Boyd), the cakeable junior FBI agent with a reputation for being just shy of obnoxiously accusatory in the interrogation room (and damn, he's good at it), shows extraordinary compassion toward a young man who is willing to risk everything to provide for his younger brother. And finally, this episode's Mvp, Ausa Caroline Julian (Patricia Belcher...

As a fan of the Jeepers Creepers movies I’m always interested in what Victor Salva will come up with next, and this can be a good and bad thing. Dark House is his latest movie which he directs and co-wrote the screenplay for and I have to admit that it is an interesting film, if you are a fan of Supernatural or shows like it that focus on a fairly lightweight battle between good and evil. With Tobin Bell starring, Dark House is also is likely to pull in some of the Saw fans too.

Looking for a movie that combines our current challenges with gaining marriage equality as well as family, love and romance? You’ll find all that and more in I Do, the new film by writer/producer David W. Ross (who also stars in the film) and director Glenn Gaylord (Leave It On The Floor).
The film, in select theaters now and also available to buy on iTunes, focuses on a unique side of the marriage equality debate – that of immigration for a non-us citizen (Ross) who, because of Doma, is forced to fake a relationship with a woman – who happens to be a lesbian, played by Jamie-Lynn Sigler – in order to stay in the country. The film also stars Mike C. Manning (The Real World), Alicia Witt, Patricia Belcher and Grant Bowler.

Chicago – Nothing bugs a critic more than obstacles strategically placed in the path of otherwise happy characters. Without the conspiratorial manipulations of the plot, these people would have no problem leading perfectly content lives. Instead of emerging organically from the characters themselves, the conflict swoops in like a speeding car fresh off the highway.
Rating: 3.0/5.0

Ross). Since Jack’s primary character flaw is that he’s too nice, he spends the next seven years raising his adorable niece, Tara (Jessica Tyler Brown), with Mya, while putting his personal life entirely on hold. Opening May 31st, 2013, I Do views marriage equality in the U.S. through the prism of immigration rights. Stepping right into the middle of the marriage equality debate, I Do is the deeply affecting story about a man forced by discrimination to make an impossible choice. Yet while both sides of the issue passionately state their cases, what’s left in the balance are families and couples often split apart, especially those with bi-national makeups. Immigration, which most heterosexual couples take for granted as a given, complicates same-sex relationships, even in states where marriage is now legal. The cast of the film directed by Glenn Gaylord from the writing by David W. Ross, includes Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Alicia Witt, Maurice Compte, David W. Ross, Grant Bowler, Patricia Belcher, Jessica Brown and Mickey Cottrell.

There are those who say "Bones" is past its prime. That the show is little more than a basic procedural that likes to show us disgusting human remains. That there isn't much point anymore.
To those people, I would like to present "The Corpse on the Canopy." With the return of evil mastermind Christopher Pelant, this episode proves that "Bones" has still got exactly what has made it an excellent show for 8 seasons.
Relive the excellence with this recap.
Pelant says good morning!
You know what's not a fun thing to wake up to? A screaming baby and a corpse dripping on your head. Alas, that's what Pelant (Andrew Leeds) gives Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) and Angela (Michaela Conlin) at the beginning of "The Corpse on the Canopy."
The sinister wake-up call also involves knockout gas and flowers circling little Michael Vincent. Add in the flayed and deconstructed body of our murder victim,...

Pelant is back! The rather evil and technologically impressive Christopher Pelant (Andrew Leeds) makes his triumphant return to "Bones" in "The Corpse on the Canopy." Can the Jeffersonian team stop him this time around?
Maybe. Maybe not. These videos from the episode give us a clue.
The corpse in the title of this episode is rather impressive in its grotesqueness.
You have to really want to send a message to get a corpse looking like that. It's no surprise that Hodgins (T.J. Everybody's favorite genius/tech-geek/psychopathic killer is back in the upcoming "Bones" episode, "The Corpse in the Canopy." And, as always, the evil Christopher Pelant is turning everything into part of his personal vendetta against the Jeffersonian.
The difference is that this time Hodgins and Angela are the most direct targets.
The latest of Pelant's (guest star Andrew Leeds) attempts to terrify and destroy our "Bones" heroes begins when Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) and Angela (Michaela Conlin) awaken to discover an unpleasant surprise atop the canopy of their bed. Somehow, Pelant has placed a dead body up there.
At least this time it doesn't look like anyone at the Jeffersonian is a strong suspect. Da Caroline Jordan (Patricia Belcher) shows up to deal with the case, but at least she's working with the team.

The Fox network has chosen to renew the popular procedural, Bones, starring Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz, for a ninth season. To make it happen, new deals were struck with the actors, whose current contracts were scheduled to end with season eight. I didn’t hear of any contract negotiation drama this year, so that’s always nice.
Deadline celebrated the news, calling Bones the Fox network’s longest-running live-action series. This struck me as odd because the X-Files also ran for nine seasons. Although, if I remember correctly, David Duchovny was not a full time cast member at the end, despite co-writing and directing one season nine episode. At any rate, Bones has a good chance of surpassing it’s ninth season, don’t you agree? X-Files ended with its ninth season.
The Simpsons has been on Fox for a whopping 24 seasons, but isn’t live-action, of course.

I must admit up front that I’m not the biggest fan of monster movies; they’re not my cup of bloody tea. So, when something like Jeepers Creepers comes along, grabs my attention and glues me to my chair, it’s something special. Darry and Trish are driving home through the countryside when they are almost driven off the road by a massive truck.
A while later, the two see the truck’s driver shoving something they think is a dead body down a drainage pipe. Naturally, the two investigate, only to find an underground dwelling full of dead bodies. They manage to escape, only to become the target of the truck driver’s menace, running for their lives from a not-so-human killer.
The cast, toplined by Justin Long and Gina Phillips, are all more than game for the crazy goings on in the film. As a couple of college aged siblings,...
