She plays both the mother, Edith Bouvier Beale, and her daughter, "Little Edie" Beale in "Grey Gardens," for which she was honored with the Outer Critics Award, Drama Desk Award, the Drama League gave her the Performance of the Year Award, the New York Drama Critics' Association gave her the Performance of the Year Award, as well, and she won the Obie for her performance.

Won the Outer Critics' Award and the Tony for her turn as Dorothy Brock in "42nd Street".
