Galaxy of Terror lands on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray on February 11. Produced by Roger Corman, the Alien-inspired 1981 sci-fi horror film has been newly restored in 4K from the 3mm interpositive with Dolby Vision.

Bruce D. Clark directs from a script he co-wrote with Marc Siegler. Edward Albert, Erin Moran, and Ray Walston star with future horror icons Sid Haig and Robert Englund. A young James Cameron served as production designer and second unit director.

Hyde Park International will launch sales and show first footage at the AFM in Las Vegas next month on the road trip comedy Northbound starring Oscar-nominated Bruce Dern.

Before USA Network became series-focused, the cable channel delivered a steady stream of weekly original movies. Many of which were produced by McA (now NBCUniversal). And during this era — between the late 1980s and early 2000s — USA offered a variety of genres; action and suspense were the most common, but horror also came up from time to time.

Especially around Halloween.

USA Network is no longer in the business of airing these “World Premiere Movies,” horror or otherwise, and there haven’t been great strides to bring all of them to streaming or modern home video. However, the horror entries certainly have their merits as well as fans.

World sales are being handled by Sublimity Entertainment, which will be presenting the film to international distributors at the Cannes marketplace.

Nearly four years have gone by since it was announced that Treehouse Pictures was developing a remake of the 1991 Christina Applegate cult classic Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead (watch it Here) that would be directed by Bille Woodruff (Beauty Shop and the Honey quadrilogy) from a screenplay by Chuck Hayward (Dear White People). All that was revealed about the project at the time was that it would be “a present-day retelling centered on a black family.” Then that’s the last we heard about it. Apparently it made its way through production while flying under the radar, though, because Film Ratings has revealed that the remake has already received its rating from the Motion Picture Association ratings board… and it’s a surprising one. While the original film was rated PG-13, the remake has earned an R rating for “teen drug use, language and some sexual references.”

First-Look Images Are Out for Apple TV’s “Masters of the Air”

The long-awaited World War II drama “Masters of the Air” has taken to the skies as Apple TV+ has released the first images for the highly anticipated limited series.

Executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman and based on Donald L. Miller’s book of the same name, “Masters of the Air” follows the 100th Bomb Group (a.k.a. the “Bloody Hundredth”) as they conduct bombing raids over Nazi Germany as they grapple with the psychological, physical, and emotional conditions of war.

The all-star ensemble is led by Austin Butler, Callum Turner, Anthony Boyle, Nate Mann, Rafferty Law, Barry Keoghan, Josiah Cross, Branden Cook, and Ncuti Gatwa.

Danny Trejo will soon be an award-winning memoirist.

The veteran actor, restauranteur and Los Angeles superstar will be honored by Writers In Treatment with an Experience Strength and Hope Award for his book Trejo: My Life of Crime, Redemption, and Hollywood. The honor — named after a well-known saying in 12-step groups — is doled out annually “to an individual who has written a memoir about their career and brutally honest journey from addiction to clean and sober living.”

Last year’s recipient, Ktla anchor, Courtney Friel, will present to Trejo. Also on the program are host Ed Begley Jr., headlining comedian Paula Poundstone, performer Philip Lawrence, presenter Joanna Cassidy and actor James Black who will deliver a spoken word performance. There was every reason to expect "Club Paradise" would be the comedy smash of Summer 1986. Harold Ramis was two-for-two as a director thanks to "Caddyshack" and "National Lampon's Vacation," and scorching hot off the blockbuster success of "Ghostbusters." Ramis had reunited with his "National Lampoon's Animal House" collaborator Chris Miller to hammer out the story, and hooked up once again with his "Caddyshack" co-writer Brian Doyle-Murray for the screenplay. And then there was the cast: Robin Williams, Peter O'Toole, Rick Moranis, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Joe Flaherty, Robin Duke, and Mary Gross. How could a film stuffed with this much comedic talent possibly miss?

The L Word: Generation Q is getting ready for its third season on Showtime, and some big names are set to appear when it arrives in November. Margaret Cho, Joey Lauren Adams, Joanna Cassidy, and Kehlani will guest star on the series, which is a sequel to The L Word, a drama that aired for six seasons. Like the original, this show follows the lives of a group of LGBTQ friends who live in Los Angeles. It stars Jennifer Beals, Katherine Moennig, Leisha Hailey, Arienne Mandi, Leo Sheng, Jacqueline Toboni, Rosanny Zayas, Sepideh Moafi, and Jordan Hull. Season 3 of The L Word: Generation Q will feature much more of Jamie Clayton, who has been upped to series regular in her role as bar manager Tess Van De Berg, TVLine has learned.

Clayton — whose credits also include Sense8 and Designated Survivor — has recurred throughout the L Word revival’s previous two seasons, with her character becoming intertwined with Katherine Moennig’s Shane in both work and love.

The “Fire Island” star will play herself as a guest host on Alice’s (Leisha Hailey) eponymous late-night talk show. A five-time Grammy and Emmy nominated actor, musician, comedian and advocate, Cho recently appeared in TV series such as “The Flight Attendant,” “Hacks” and Netflix’s comedy special “Stand Out: An LGBTQ+ Celebration.” Her production company, Animal Family Productions, has multiple scripted shows in development for 2022 and beyond.

The iconic Ridley Scott sci-fi movie set in 2019 Los Angeles starring Harrison Ford as a former police officer tasked with hunting down synthetic humans turns 40 on Saturday.

In an interview for the film’s 1982 release, the Netherlands-born Hauer, while being flattered by a journalist about his good looks, was asked why he would want to play a “villain” in the film when he was handsome enough to be the hero. A polite Hauer responded that he did not see his character, Roy Batty, in the same light.

Exclusive: Tyra Banks (America’s Next Top Model) has signed on for a role in Treehouse Pictures’ remake of Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead, which is heading into production in Los Angeles in July.

The original 1991 film, from director Stephen Herek, follows Sue Ellen “Swell” Crandell (Christina Applegate), a 17-year-old forced to take care of her four younger siblings after the babysitter hired by her mother dies while mom’s out of town. While the Warner Bros comedy also starring Joanna Cassidy, Keith Coogan, John Getz and Josh Charles didn’t land as a major hit, either critically or commercially, it has fostered a cult following in the decades since.

Treehouse’s remake is billed as a present-day retelling centered on a Black family. Banks will play Cassidy’s character Rose, a fashion executive at General Apparel West, who takes a chance on Swell by hiring her as an executive assistant.

Some fun guest stars appear in Leverage: Redemption Season 1 to make it very much a family-oriented show — especially behind the scenes. Noah Wyle’s (corporate lawyer-turned-fixer Harry Wilson) real-life wife and daughter, and Gina Bellman’s (grifter Sophie Devereaux) daughter will appear in the second half of the first season (dropping October 8 on IMDb TV), TV Insider has learned. You've probably heard the report that 78 year old Harrison Ford has suffered a shoulder injury prepping for a scene in the as yet untitled Indiana Jones 5. We've already heard his age mentioned in a joking manner around the web but we're not going to join in the ageism of that. We would just like to point out that if Harrison Ford is going to do this at 79 (his birthday is in a couple of weeks) why can't actresses get action roles at that age? Well, okay, they let Helen Mirren do it a couple of times but we can never have enough actressy action and James Cameron takes decades off between movies.
