Roman Weyl was born on 30 July 1921 in Mainz, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. He was a production designer and costume designer, known for Wer seine Frau lieb hat (1955), Der Schimmelreiter (1978) and Adrian, der Tulpendieb (1966). He was married to Susanne Wisten. He died in January 2011 in Berlin, Germany.
