Brien Varady, off beat actor, is known for such roles as Allard the eccentric
homeless guy in Nowhere Land (1990), the loner Cliff Vasco in The Dance King (1992), John the tormented lover in Pure Sex, Simple Mind (1992), and Chris the smart friend of Peter Berg in John Dahl's The Last Seduction (1994). A native of Los Angeles, as a boy he sneaked onto studio back-lots and knew from an early age that he wanted to be an actor. He began his career doing television commercials and the
mini-series Captains and the Kings (1976). He studied with the great
acting legend Kim Stanley and was mentored by actor Michael Lerner.
Later he went on to produce Naked in the Cold Sun (1997), in which he also
acted as the crazy undercover detective Marcus D'Antonio. He worked
with Mr. Dahl again in a cameo role as the wounded paramedic Joe in Joy Ride (2001). He is a delight to watch as the workaholic husband Patrick Maloney in Lamb to the Slaughter (2002). And most recently has a cameo in Forgotten as Matt Warren.
