[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Chesapeake Shores Season 6 Episode 8 “I Get a Kick Out of You.”] Until the final moments of the latest Chesapeake Shores, the biggest things in the episode seem to be David (Carlo Marks) trying to find his dad (Malcolm Stewart) a lawyer and Evan (Robert Buckley) getting a surprise family reunion. But that changes when Luke (Stephen Huszar) stops at a gas station, and now we’re left wondering if the series’ penultimate episode might be very tragic. On the way back from visiting his parents’ graves on his mother’s birthday, Luke is in the store at the gas station when a man walks in to rob the place. The cashier hurries to give him the money from the register, but she insists she doesn’t know the combination to the safe. Luke intervenes, trying to get the robber to leave, then distracts him by saying there’s a sign...

The Supreme Court on Monday struck down a federal cap on politicians using campaign funds to reimburse themselves for personal loans made to their own campaigns. The ruling is obviously a win for rich candidates, and means that similarly rich donors and lobbyists will essentially be able to bribe politicians with donations candidates can then pocket.
The 6-3 decision authored by conservative Chief Justice John Roberts and dissented to by the court’s liberal wing was the result of a lawsuit from Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) challenging the Bipartisan Campaign...

The Supreme Court on Tuesday waded into a two-decade long debate over the extent to which the FCC can relax media ownership rules.
At stake are recent FCC moves toward deregulation, allowing the common ownership of a newspaper and broadcast stations in the same market, as well as giving more leeway for media companies to own more than one TV and radio outlet in the same city.
The dispute stretches back two decades, a few years after the FCC began a new, congressionally mandated requirement to regularly review its media ownership rules determine whether they were still necessary in the public interest.
The Third Circuit Court of Appeals has repeatedly rejected the FCC’s efforts to modify the rules, and most recently a 2017 effort to overhaul the ownership restrictions. The appeals court determined that that effort failed to adequate analyze the effect that the rule changes would have on women...

If you thought that the legal dispute between Aereo and the broadcasters was combative, it paled compared with today’s one-hour hearing at the Supreme Court. In oral arguments before the nine Justices, both sides took some heavy blows, but the Barry Diller-backed streaming service definitely took one to the jaw from Chief Justice John Roberts. “Your technological model is based solely on circumventing legal prohibitions that you don’t want to comply with,” Roberts told Aereo attorney David Frederick during the presentation before a packed chamber. “There’s no reason for you to have 10,000 dime-sized antennas except to get around the Copyright Act,” he said. Added Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg: ”You are the only player so far that pays no royalties whatsoever.” Coming after arguments from the broadcasters by former Solicitor General Paul Clement and current Deputy Solicitor General Malcolm Stewart, Frederick started off his presentation by...

As Aereo and the broadcasters face off Tuesday in a one-hour oral argument at the Supreme Court, one noteworthy aspect of the case is likely to go unaddressed: the presence -- and absence -- of several key players. The lineup on the bench will include Justices Samuel Alito and Elena Kagan. The lawyers at the podium is expected to include deputy solicitor general Edwin Kneedler (Update: actually, deputy solicitor general Malcolm Stewart argued), but not the higher-ups, solicitor general Donald Verrilli or his principal deputy Ian Gershengorn. Behind each of those individuals is a story. Guest Column: Why Aereo Should

Those "Ice Road Truckers" you watch on the History Channel are used to contending with driving over frozen lakes and roads and other dangerous subzero conditions near the Arctic Circle. Syfy's Ice Road Terror introduces a road hazard those brave truckers aren't used to dealing with: an unfrozen prehistoric monster.
Ice Road Terror stars Brea Grant ("Heroes"), Ty Olsson ("Battlestar Galactica"), Dylan Neal ("Dawson's Creek"), and Malcolm Stewart ("Kyle Xy"). Uwe Boll's latest will release June 1st on DVD through Phase 4 Films (Rampage). Boll is often regarded as one of the worst directors in cinema. However, there are some films of Boll's that have turned out digestable e.g. Tunnel Rats. Rampage could turn out to be one of his better films based on reviews. In Rampage Bill starts a one man war with society. Guess who wins? The DVD artwork can be seen here with a synopsis below. Is Boll transitioning into a quality filmmaker? That might be a stretch at this point. Yet, Darfur and Rampage both have potential. A trailer for this release is inside.
The synopsis for Rampage here:
"The boredom of small town life is eating Bill Williamson alive. Feeling constrained and claustrophobic in the meaningless drudgery of everyday life and helpless against overwhelming global dissolution, Bill (Brendan Fletcher) begins a descent into madness.

Case 39
Opens: January 1st 2010
Cast: Renée Zellweger, Jodelle Ferland, Ian McShane, Bradley Cooper, Kerry O'Malley
Director: Christian Alvart
Summary: A family services social worker thinks she has seen it all until she meets her newest, most mysterious case - a troubled 10-year old girl whose parents try to kill her. The social worker decides to take her in herself until the right foster family comes along.
Analysis: Despite the presence of promising German director Christian Alvart ("Pandorum"), 'Case' has sat on a shelf since late 2006 and is finally being quietly shuffled out this year for one very good reason - it stinks. Having opened in Australia a few months back, reviewers utterly savaged the film as both incredibly dumb and utterly ludicrous. Lead star Renee Zellweger also scored personal criticism to a level rarely seen in film reviews outside of comments about Nicole Kidman's 'more alien than the...

Among the items on the prop list for Grace are: one (1) baby bottle filled with blood and one (1) dead baby. Now that you know that, a review might be superfluous -- you already know whether or not you want to see this movie.
If you are the sort of person who might enjoy an effed-up gore-fest about a woman who delivers an undead baby, you can rest assured that Grace lives up to its potential. It's at least as effed-up as you'd expect, and first-time writer/director Paul Solet (expanding on his 2006 short) proves himself adept both as a visual storyteller and as a guy who can make you crap your pants.
Jordan Ladd stars as Madeline Matheson, a young woman who has finally, after years of trying, conceived a child with her dull husband, Michael (Stephen Park). Madeline's intrusive mother-in-law,...

Four clips from Duncan Jones’ “Moon” have arrived to alleviate your boring, 3-year stint on the moon. What, you’re not doing a 3-year stint on the moon like the hero of “Moon”? Lucky you, because it doesn’t sound like good things are in store for our hero, and you can catch it in theaters June 12. If there’s one thing you instantly get from these clips is that this is one moody picture. That, and man, Kevin Spacey’s voice is really creepy. Astronaut Sam Bell has a quintessentially personal encounter toward the end of his three-year stint on the Moon, where he, working alongside his computer, Gerty, sends back to Earth parcels of a resource that has helped diminish our planet’s power problems. Starring Matt Berry, Robin Chalk, Dominique McElligott, Sam Rockwell, Kaya Scodelario, Kevin Spacey, Malcolm Stewart, and Benedict Wong. Written and directed by Duncan Jones.

Sure her baby died while she was pregnant, but that doesn’t mean she can’t still give birth to it. Right? That’s the premise of Paul Solet’s creepy as hell horror movie “Grace”, which stars Jordan Ladd (”Cabin Fever”) as a very disturbed lass who gives birth to her dead baby. Yes, I have no idea how that works, too, and for good reason. It’s all the devil’s doing! It’s the devil I tell ya! Soon, poor Jordan Ladd discovers that her little tyke is very picky when it comes to his food. Very, very picky. Chilling, hair-raising red band trailer for “Grace” below. If you get seasick easily, or are prone to suffering from motion sickness, then I would advise not clicking on to see the poster for Duncan Jones’ “Moon”, starring Sam Rockwell as an astronaut on the moon who is about to finish up his 3-year contract for a private company, when he starts to see very strange things — like himself, dying. Sam ends up saving himself, which is even weirder. “Moon” stars Sam Rockwell as the astronaught and Kevin Spacey as the voice of the base’s computer, which may or may not be trying to kill Sam. You know, self-aware machines are so dependable until they start plotting against you. Also starring Kaya Scodelario, Matt Berry, Dominique McElligott, Malcolm Stewart, Benedict Wong, and Robin Chalk. The film is scheduled for September 3. And in case you missed it, the “Moon” trailer was released to the masses here. Update: New, corrected poster.

A movie that's been slowly being filmed under everyone's radar is Duncan Jones' Moon, which stars Sam Rockwell, Kaya Scodelario, Benedict Wong, Matt Berry, Malcolm Stewart, Dominique McElligott and Kevin Spacey. While at the Afm we scored a look at 18 astounding images from the film that follows Astronaut Sam Bel (Rockwell) whol has a quintessentially personal encounter while stranded on the moon for a three-year period. Tell me this doesn't look awesome? Sam Bell is nearing the end of his contract with Lunar. He's been a faithful employee for 3 long years. His home has been Selene, a moon base where he has spent his days alone, mining Helium 3. The precious gas holds the key to reversing the Earth's energy crisis. Isolated, determined and steadfast, Sam has followed the rulebook obediently and his time on the moon has been enlightening, but uneventful.
