Sean Skelton is a writer, director and producer for his production company Mad Rocket. He is primarily known for his award-winning independent pilots and short films, including his dramatic comedy pilot "Trouble," which won the awards for Best TV Drama at the Independent Television Festival and Best Writing at the New York Television Festival, among other accolades. His short pilot, "Schmucks, Inc" (formerly "Vice, Inc."), won Best Web Series Pilot at the New York Television Festival.
He co-created the documentary TV series "Wall Street Warriors" for MOJO HD and wrote, produced and directed every episode for its three-season run. Among other projects, he wrote and produced a Webby-nominated web series for Yahoo! Finance ("Financially Fit") and a short doc about the Biosphere 2 project for Retro Report and the New York Times.
Other projects Sean has written, directed and produced have been nominated at the New York Television Festival for the Lionsgate/Sea to Sky Co-Development Award, the Samsung Second Screen Initiative, the Bing Decisions Award, the MSN Online Competition and the AMC-Channel 4 Drama Co-Development Award. His most recent pilot script, a science fiction thriller entitled "The Naked Eye," has been a finalist in such international script competitions as Emerging Screenwriters, Final Draft Big Break and The People's Pilot.
A graduate of the U.C. Santa Barbara film school, Sean worked as an actor for several years after college, landing roles in the Michael Bay blockbuster "The Rock," opposite Nicolas Cage; the Oscar-nominated biopic "Kinsey," opposite Liam Neeson; and the action TV series "Nash Bridges," opposite Don Johnson. He also starred in a Foster Farms TV ad that garnered a Silver Clio.
In 2016, after spending 14 exciting years in New York City, Sean returned to his home state of California and resides in Venice Beach, Los Angeles.
