As an avid fan of Ru Paul’s Drag Race, I was tremendously excited when it was announced that RuPaul would be staring in a new Netflix show titled Aj and the Queen and it certainly didn’t disappoint. This series follows a down on his kick drag performer Robert who performs as Ruby Red (played by Ru Paul Charles) as he somehow ends up with a ten-year-old stowaway as he tours America trying to rebuild his life.
As you can imagine, Aj and the Queen is a show that contains a lot of Drag Queens – which is fantastic for representation and empowerment for viewers and encourages them to live their best life. It is an incredible thing that drag has made it into a mainstream...

Matthew Wilkas plays the recurring role of Officer Patrick Kennedy on Aj and the Queen, a Netflix comedy series created by RuPaul and Michael Patrick King (Sex and the City showrunner). Ruby Red is a “bigger than life but down on her luck” drag queen who travels across the country, from club to club, in an old 1990s Rv, spreading a message of love and acceptance. Bright red wigs, red sequin gowns, and red stacked platform heels filled up the red carpet at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, Calif. Thursday night as the “Aj and the Queen” premiere kicked off and drag queens and more attendees glitzed up the scene and gathered to celebrate RuPaul’s new Netflix series.
Red was the theme of the night, the color which guests were asked to wear in honor of RuPaul’s character Ruby Red, the star of the show. “I really just went for a ‘you ate Jessica Rabbit and boiled the bunny,”’ David “Eureka” Huggard said before strutting inside the event decked out head to toe in a red wig and red dress. “I’m in a black tank top honey. I thought I was Jason Momoa at the Golden Globes girl,” Shangela said, showing reporters the tank top underneath the red blazer.

RuPaul is one of the single most impactful TV stars of the decade just concluded, thanks to a funny sort of double performance. As the host and presiding judge on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” the performer is “himself” in a sort of emcee drag of tailored suits and black-framed specs before emerging, each episode, as the character “RuPaul,” defined by big wigs and high dudgeon. It’s a bombshell of charisma that’s so well-deployed it looks quite a lot like art, playing off of RuPaul’s long history in the public eye and the conventions of unscripted TV to create an elaborate pantomime that, moment-to-moment, feels realer than vérité.
RuPaul has been so adept at defining the emotional texture of the series — easily toggling from humane interaction with aspirant drag queens to superhuman ringleader of runway chaos — that it’s easy to see why he’d seem like a fit for a scripted series.

I hope you're not wearing a wig, because Netflix's trailer for Aj and the Queen might snatch it right off. The streaming giant released a sneak peek of the RuPaul-led series on Dec. 4, and it looks like a glitzy good time. The show centers around a drag queen named Ruby Red (RuPaul) who travels across America to perform after her partner steals her savings. Her trek hits a bump in the road when she discovers 10-year-old orphaned stowaway Aj (Izzy Gaspersz). But over time, the two become closer as they explore themes of love, friendship, and family.
The series also focuses heavily on drag culture, so, of course, there's going to be cameos from RuPaul's Drag Race alums. The trailer alone features notable Drag Race stars such as Bianca Del Rio, Latrice Royale, Chad Michaels, and Trinity "The Tuck" Taylor. But there's even more in store for...

Sigourney Presents 'Aliens' Egg to Museum
Actress Sigourney Weaver has presented the alien-producing egg from her 1986 movie Aliens to a museum in Washington, DC. Weaver handed the silver egg to the National Museum Of American History on Wednesday, along with an original script and several still photographs from the movie. She says, "It's a great honor for our movie. I also think that people will get a big kick out of getting that close to an egg without a facehugger jumping out at them." The egg will eventually be displayed with other movie memorabilia, such as the Ruby Red slippers Judy Garland wore as Dorothy in the Wizard Of Oz and Harrison Ford's jacket and hat from the Indiana Jones movies. The 1979 thriller Alien, directed by Ridley Scott, launched Weaver's career. She then starred as heroine Ellen Ripley in three more Alien movies - Aliens, Alien 3, and Alien: Resurrection. She's currently in talks with Scott about reprising the role yet again.
