David Oliver Pfeil is a Cinematographer, DGA Director and Main Title Designer. He's won two Emmys for television titles and shot the iconic opening title sequence to the classic 1980s TV series Knightrider.
Other television title credits include The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd and Jake and the Fatman. His movie credits include title sequences for Innerspace, 9 to 5, The Electric Horseman, Rocky III, Hocus Pocus and Footloose.
In 1997, David began his tenure as director of the new film school at Academy of Art University, San Francisco. In 2004, he was promoted to Vice President of On-Air Advertising. Since 2007, he has been a principal of studioDP2, a video production company based in Marin County.
In 2018, David was awarded the degree of Honorary Doctorate by Academy of Art University.
David is a member of the Directors Guild of America, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
