John Frederick Lange Jr. is a retired professor at the City University of New York. He earned his doctorate in 1963 from Princeton University, with a dissertation entitled "In Defence of Ethical Naturalism." He was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA, and has been married to Bernice L. Green since 1956. They have three children.
