Author and producer Patricia "Pat" Ledford has extensive experience in the entertainment industry and in marketing, advertising, and public relations.
As the first Executive Director of the Tennessee Film, Entertainment and Music Commission she worked to expand the state's film industry ranking to 4th in the nation. In only four years, she led her team to recruit more than 35 major film/television projects to the state . Working with numerous award-winning professionals including Tony Scott, Gil Cates, Marvin Chomsky, Delbert Mann, Elmo Williams, Joe Cates, and Mark Rydell inspired her to establish her own company to develop and produce high-quality music videos, and projects for television and theatrical release.
Following her film commission tenure, she worked as a consultant and in crew positions on "Starman", "Round Midnight", "Sweet Dreams", "Marie", "Burning Rage", "Where the Sidewalk Ends", "Johnny Cash Christmas Special", and "The Last Days of Frank and Jesse James". Her producing credits include "Live on Stage", a 29-show television music series syndicated nationally and internationally, "A Tennessee Homecoming" featuring 50 Tennessee stars, "Life with Elvis", and numerous music videos and commercials.
In her role with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, she connected the organization for wishes involving the Academy Awards, as partner for the world premiere of "Country Strong", and in granting wishes on the sets of "Glee", "Chronicles of Narnia", and a room makeover by HGTV's David Bromstad.
She served on the boards of the Nashville Entertainment Association, Nashville Urban League, Leadership Tennessee as well as the Sinking Creek Film Festival-later renamed the Nashville Film Festival. In 1981, she Chaired the U. S. Delegation of Young Political Leaders General Assembly @ Oxford.
Ledford's debut novel "Strings-The Story of Hope" (a historical romance novel spanning four generations in Western North Carolina and East Tennessee between 1776-1805) is now available. More information at www.palinks.net
Born in Kingsport, Tennessee, Ledford was educated at the University of Tennessee, and has one daughter.
