Although Channing Tatum is considered one of the best-looking actors in modern Hollywood, there’s more to him than just his pleasant appearance.
After he struggled to find a job in his twenties, Tatum eventually stumbled into the acting world by chance, leading to a fruitful and prolific career.

The opening voiceover that kicks off ‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance’ ponders the inherent social function and the ineffable form of radical self-expression and communal communication that is singularly cultivated by the artform of dance. The omnipotent narrator’s high-minded investigation of the ancient query “What is dance and why is it so powerful?” persists in these voiceover passages throughout the movie, alongside a steadily delivered stream of dry-witted plot management. While this anthropological analysis of the nature of dance may not be the first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of the ‘Magic Mike’ franchise, every entry in this provocative trilogy has, above all else, endeavored to depict the human body (specifically the male form) as a living, breathing, work of art on screen. Despite the unavoidable predictability that comes with being the third movie in a trilogy, in its best moments,...

Has there been a greater bait-and-switch in recent memory than "Magic Mike"? The trailers for director Steven Soderbergh's 2012 dramedy -- itself loosely based on star Channing Tatum's real-life experiences as an "exotic dancer" -- promised to deliver a whole lot of male stripper shenanigans for a fun Friday night of frivolity. The actual film, on the other hand, was a far more sobering look at not just the reality of what life is like as a professional stripper but also the economic hardships faced by working-class individuals like Tatum's Michael "Magic Mike" Lane in the wake of the 2007 financial crisis. In his defense, Soderbergh likened the film to a Robert Altman joint ahead of its release, so you can't exactly accuse him personally of trojan-horsing anyone.
The second "Magic Mike" film, "Magic Mike Xxl," hewed closer to what audiences expected from the first movie. Helmed by Soderbergh's longtime assistant director Gregory Jacobs,...

Channing Tatum fears the impact that streaming will have on the film industry. The 43-year-old actor has featured in movies released in the wake of the pandemic – such as 'Dog' and 'Magic Mike's Last Dance' – but is concerned about the effect streamers are going to have on the quality of storytelling.Channing told Forbes: "The movie industry is just changing so much. Magic Mike’s Last Dance is a movie directed by Steven Soderbergh starring Channing Tatum and Salma Hayek.
Good old Mike returns with his sculpted abs from the hand of the director everyone loves for this farewell, not very spectacular cinematographically, but fun and entertaining.
Storyline
Mike works as a waiter until a rich woman takes him to London to, together, form a group of male strippers.
Movie Review Magic Mike’s Last Dance
Correct, very correct and knowing that there is a certain Soderbergh in charge of the project, but as not everything can be done by the good director and “one-man band”, he has his always good partners who accompany him: this time, same as always, Channing Tatum, a very good actor for comedy, and Salma Hayek, who does a bit of everything and does everything well.

2022 was a very good year at the movies, and 2023 promises to be potentially even bigger and even more exciting. While there’s no telling which films will actually deliver, we’ve rounded up 40 of our most anticipated films coming out next year. For some, it’s the combination of director and material (Greta Gerwig and “Barbie”) that piques our interest; for others it’s an exciting sequel (“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”); and for others it’s as simple as “Nicolas Cage as Dracula.”
With the caveat that there will surely (and hopefully) be surprises we don’t see coming, here are some of the films we’re most looking forward to in 2023.

Warner Bros. Pictures won’t need smoke machines for the new Magic Mike’s Last Dance posters because Channing Tatum and Salma Hayek Pinault are already making plenty of steam on the dancefloor. The dynamic duo leads the final film in the Magic Mike franchise, coming to theaters on Valentine’s Day next year.
Channing and Hayek Pinault are entwined seductively in the Magic Mike’s Last Dance posters. I know they’re just images on a screen, but damn! The fan inside my PC tower is spinning extra fast, and I must lie down. There’s only so much sexiness I can withstand in the middle of my shift on a Tuesday afternoon. I’ll shake this off and come back to you.
Okay. I’m back. I got a desk fan and a damp cloth for my forehead. We can continue. Actually, I need more time. Why don...

2022 has been such a bright year with several amazing movies but we are already looking forward to the new year. Quite frankly, it appears like 2023 promises more fun and entertainment than 2022 with several blockbusters lined up for the year — both new and returning titles.
Here is a quick highlight of the 30 most anticipated movies of 2023 and their release dates.
1. “Magic Mike’s Last Dance”
Steven Soderbergh announced in 2021 that he would give Channing Tatum and his band of male strippers a last dance. The director is back with a follow-up to his 2015 comedy-drama “Magic Mike Xxl” titled “Magic Mike’s Last Dance.”
In this sequel, times are a bit hard for Mike Lane (Channing Tatum) so he decides to have a final dance at the request of a wealthy woman. However, the woman seems to have ulterior motives. This is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated movies of 2022.

When the first trailer for “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” dropped last month, the headlines described Channing Tatum‘s lap dance on Salma Hayek as “sexy” and “steamy.” Hayek, however, used two very different words to describe the seductive scene.
The 56-year-old actress spoke with Et’s Rachel Smith and revealed exactly what it felt like when she filmed the scene seen ’round the world. In the trailer for the third installment of the popular franchise, Tatum reprises his role as “Magic” Mike Lane, who puts his special skillset on display for Hayek’s character, a wealthy socialite.
After telling her that bartending is not really what he does, Tatum’s character proceeds to give her such a powerful show that Hayek’s character reveals the “magical moment … made me remember who I really was.” She now tells Et whether it was as steamy as everyone made the scene out to be.

Make sure you replace the batteries in your handheld fan before watching Magic Mike’s Last Dance because the film’s finale includes a 30-minute dance sequence. That’s right, folks! Thirty minutes of swiveling hips, vivacious voguing, and sweat pouring down like a cold November rain. Steven Soderbergh is returning for the threequel after Gregory Jacobs directed the second film in the series, Magic Mike Xxl.
Speaking with Empire magazine, Soderbergh talked about the upcoming film’s big finish, saying, “We wanted to blow the dancing up in a big way.” Soderbergh then let the cat out of the bag by adding, “We have this dance number with Channing [Tatum] and Salma [Hayek] right up front. And then the last 30-plus minutes of the movie are just this giant dance sequence.”

Action maestro David Leitch has another project on his slate, as Deadline has reported that he’s set to direct Channing Tatum in Red Shirt, a spy thriller based on an original pitch from Simon Kinberg,
Although the title definitely makes me think of Star Trek, there aren’t many details about Red Shirt other than it’s a “new spin on James Bond” and has “franchise potential.” David Leitch and Kelly McCormick are producing under their 87 North production banner, with Channing Tatum producing through his Free Association banner and Simon Kinberg producing through his Genre Films banner. The package has already attracted offers from several studios that are hot on the concept.

“Magic Mike’s Last Dance” is almost here and the film’s debut trailer gives a great impression of what we can expect from the final film in the trilogy.
Once again starring Channing Tatum as “Magic” Mike Lane, who appears to be stuck in Florida and working as a bartender for a monied older woman (Salma Hayek Pinault). After they strike up a romance and he shows her his, um, moves, she suggests that they take his act abroad – to foggy London town! While there, Mike is forced to find new dancers and construct a show from the ground up, while also connecting with his love’s young daughter.

It may be Magic Mike’s last dance, but Channing Tatum is going out with more than bang.
The third “Magic Mike” film, “Magic Mike’s Last Dance,” debuted its trailer featuring Tatum teasing a titillating onstage performance as the titular erotic dancer. Per the official synopsis, “Magic” Mike Lane (Tatum) takes to the stage again after a lengthy hiatus, following a business deal that went bust, leaving him broke and taking bartender gigs in Florida. For what he hopes will be one last hurrah, Mike heads to London with a wealthy socialite (Salma Hayek Pinault) who lures him with an offer he can’t refuse…and an agenda all her own.
With everything on the line, once Mike discovers what she truly has in mind, will he — and the roster of hot new dancers he’ll have to whip into shape — be able to pull it off?

The return of Ethan Hunt isn’t the only franchise worth getting excited for in 2023. Seven years after leading one of the best sequels of all-time, Mike Lane—aka Magic Mike—makes his triumphant comeback with Magic Mike’s Last Dance. Featuring Steven Soderbergh back in the director’s chair after skipping out on helming duties for Xxl, Channing Tatum is also joined by Salma Hayek. Ahead of a Valentine’s Day weekend release from Warner Bros., the first trailer has now arrived.
The official synopsis reads: “‘Magic’ Mike Lane (Tatum) takes to the stage again after a lengthy hiatus, following a business deal that went bust, leaving him broke and taking bartender gigs in Florida. For what he hopes will be one last hurrah, Mike heads to London with a wealthy socialite (Hayek Pinault) who lures him with an offer he can’t refuse…and an agenda all her own.

Either Channing Tatum’s Mike Lane is pregnant, or Salma Hayek is learning to read a new form of brail in the new Magic Mike’s Last Dance image. That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, dollars will rain, and junk will swing like a pendulum when the Steven Soderbergh-directed sequel gyrates its way into cinemas. Initially, Magic Mike’s Last Dance was destined for HBO Max. However, Warner Bros. Discovery’s David Zaslav is salivating for box office Somalians and wants Tatum and company to shake what their mama gave them on the big screen. The third chapter of the Magic Mike franchise oils up in theaters on February 10, 2023, the same weekend as the Super Bowl! How much ball handling can the public take in one weekend? We’ll soon find out.

“Bandit” may be, as it proudly declares up front, based on a true story. But it’s hard to believe the titular antihero was quite as charming as the guy playing him.
Josh Duhamel is Robert Whiteman — or, technically, Gilbert Galvan Jr., as he’s known before he escapes a Michigan jail and flees to Ontario in 1985. He becomes Whiteman when he buys a homeless man’s ID, so he can get a job selling ice cream. But when he’s fired, he needs a new gig fast. Unfortunately, even in Canada it’s tough to find work as a wanted convict.
So Robert starts looking around for ways to make some easy money. Actually, make that fast money. Canadian banks, he learns while robbing them, have very little security, and he’s in and out in minutes. But it’s definitely work, what with the careful planning, the costumes and prosthetics,...

By the time of Humphrey Bogart's final film performance, in 1956's "The Harder They Fall," the movie star had fallen gravely ill. His years of smoking and drinking climaxed with what would become fatal esophageal cancer, which cast an unmissable pall on his performance. And yet, he still brings his star-making qualities: the toughness and bitterness, the anger and wry sarcasm.
Because "The Harder They Fall" is just one of many noir-era movies about the boxing underworld, it gets less respect than Bogart's many classics. He hadn't even wanted to be in the movie, focusing his remaining energy in vain on another movie with his wife Lauren Bacall, according to Stefan Kanfer's Bogart biography "Tough Without a Gun." He had many reasons for not being interested in the movie, but the cast was a big one.

Welcome to this week’s “Just for Variety.”
When the announcement came that “Magic Mike’s Last Dance,” the third movie in Channing Tatum’s male stripper franchise, had the greenlight, it was revealed the film would premiere directly on HBO Max. However, director Steven Soderbergh says a theatrical run is still on the table. “We’re talking about it,” Soderbergh told me recently while promoting the “Magic Mike Live” tour, which makes its North American debut in Miami in October. “It’s certainly hard to argue that this isn’t a movie that’s best seen in a theater, because we have the data. People, primarily women, were going in packs, in large groups, to see the ‘Magic Mike’ movies.”
Soderbergh returns as director after helming the first “M.M.” (the second was directed by Gregory Jacobs). “That’s the discussion with Warners right now — can we eventize this?...

Thandiwe Newton is departing the cast of the third “Magic Mike” film, “Magic Mike’s Last Dance,” and she’ll be replaced in the film by Salma Hayek, a Warner Bros. spokesperson told TheWrap.
“Thandiwe Newton has made the difficult decision to step away from the production of Warner Bros. Pictures’ ‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance’ to deal with family matters,” a spokesperson said in a statement.
Channing Tatum and the original filmmaking team, including director Steven Soderbergh, are all returning for the “Magic Mike” threequel, which is currently filming on location in London.

“Dog” star Channing Tatum is already deep into preparation for his third and final go-round as male stripper Mike Lane for “Magic Mike’s Last Dance.” But the actor has been vocal, like several male stars of late, about the extreme training regimen that goes into physically preparing for the feature.
While doing press for his latest film “Dog,” the story of two Army Rangers — one of whom is the dog of the title — traveling to a fallen soldier’s funeral, Tatum went on the “Kelly Clarkson Show” to discuss getting into shape for the Steven Soderbergh film. Tatum explained to Clarkson that one of the reasons he didn’t necessarily want to embark on a third feature was because he’d need to have the right physique for it. “It’s hard even if you do work out to be in that kind of shape,” he said.

Channing Tatum is gearing up for his last dance as "Magic Mike," and this time, he won't be dancing alone. And no, we're not just talking about his reunion with Steven Soderbergh, who helmed the first "Magic Mike" movie and who served as the cinematographer and editor of its sequel, "Magic Mike Xxl," under Ad-turned-director Gregory Jacobs. For "Magic Mike's Last Dance," it seems there will be more of a relationship aspect than there has been in previous movies, where romance took a backseat to Mike Lane's adventures as a male stripper in Tampa, Florida.

HBO Max will be the exclusive home to the sequel of a successful Warner Bros. property.
According to Deadline, the Magic Mike franchise is getting a third chapter, with Channing Tatum set to return for Magic Mike's Last Dance.
Tatum played Mike Lane in the first two movies, and given the title of the new flick, it sounds like the movie will conclude the franchise.
Then again, it could lead to a TV show or spinoff movies on the streaming service.
In fact, an unscripted series titled Finding Magic Mike is set to bow on the streamer on December 16.
Streaming services have been reaching into the back catalogs of the media conglomerates that own them in an effort to drive subscriber numbers.
Steven Soderbergh and writer Reid Carolin are also set to return for the next chapter.
The first two films amassed nearly $300 million worldwide, so there is a desire for the movies.

Three Colors, Koker, Before, Dollars, Godfather… a quick smattering of the great film trilogies, each a narrative and thematic union that has enraptured serious film lovers for decades. Now added to the pile is Magic Mike, which we thought had been left hanging with 2015’s (admittedly perfect) Magic Mike Xxl. But after some time away from screens, Channing Tatum will reunite with Steven Soderbergh and scribe Reid Carolin on the ominously titled Magic Mike’s Last Dance, confirmed by the actor in a tweet:
Well world, looks like Mike Lane’s tapping back in. @hbomax pic.twitter.com/V9Ce62n710

In a more filled-out press release we are told the film will, as is Soderbergh’s wont these days, premiere on HBO Max. The director’s desire to return was sparked by seeing Magic Mike Live in Las Vegas—”I said we have to make another movie.

Director Steven Soderbergh, writer Reid Carolin, and star Channing Tatum are set to reunite for the third installment in the “Magic Mike” series, “Magic Mike’s Last Dance.” Deadline has reported that Warner Bros. has set up the next installment, with Tatum returning as dancer Mike Lane. The twist? The movie is premiering exclusively on HBO Max, much like Steven Soderbergh’s late-breaking 2020 feature “Let Them All Talk” and this year’s crime thriller “No Sudden Move.” Soderbergh will direct “Magic Mike 3,” with Carolin penning the screenplay. Gregory Jacobs, who directed 2015’s “Magic Mike Xxl” after Soderbergh helmed the 2012 original, will return to produce the film along with Carolin ,Nick Wechsler, and Peter Kiernan.
Altogether, the first films have grossed almost $300 million worldwide, and have spawned a successful stage show known as “Magic Mike Live,” which started in Vegas before traveling abroad. A multiyear North American tour has been set,...
