- Received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6324 Hollywood Blvd. on February 8, 1960 (one week before her 18th birthday).
- Best known for her roles as Terry Williams on The Danny Thomas Show (1953) and as the android Andrea in What Are Little Girls Made Of? (1966).

- Shared a birthday with her television brother, Rusty Hamer, five years apart. Later on Rusty ran into all sorts of personal and financial problems where his sad and sorry life spiraled down into deep depression where eventually alcohol abuse caused him to be increasingly violent and delusional, and suffering from chronic back pain, he shot himself to death in his trailer on January 18, 1990. He was only 42.
- Beautiful, experienced actress who had the notoriety of enhancing season one of each of the two competing 1966 network space entries. On Star Trek she played a conflicted, scantily-dressed android. On Lost in Space she appeared as a wacky if enchanting traveling space hayseed.
