Loved the length of the episodes and the whole feel the show gives. Gotta have a season 2. Vince has a lot more material to give the world. And we wanna see it!
The dialogue was pretty funny and the acting wasn't bad at all. With more opportunities for the show to expand in characters and potential story lines. If the next season ever happens it will be a lot better and more refined.
Wish it had a soundtrack by Vince to go with it, but it doesn't take anything away from the show.
Very glad Netflix took a gamble with giving Vince his own show and from my opinion, this is solid television. Hope this introduces new fans to his music and shows the potential he has as an artist in multiple mediums.

Watched the first 5 episodes and loved it. I'm sure this will not appeal to everyone as it is rooted deeply in lower class black culture. Which can be harsh gritty and disrespectful. With that being said for folks who've watched Atlanta know how unpredictable and surreal shows can be. This shows carries a similar energy albeit there is not always a happy ending as it is rooted in the lower income black experience. The show is real but still funny and carries the culture as it is forward on the big screen. There's also soo much that you have to read in-between the lines to understand. Great watch and great job Vince.
The show is hilarious and believable, given Vince Staples's life story. It's a must-watch; its inspiration echoes Glover's show Atlanta, but this is for L. A.
I wholeheartedly hope this show gets renewed, as Vince is a very grounded entertainer in an age of digital and plastic facades.
The script is superb, and all the actors bring A* performances in each episode. Vince is Vince and each episode is compelling and amusing.
This type of show does outline there is a gap in the market for shows centred on black experiences submerged in humourous satire; if anything else it can aid in bridging cultural gaps and form understanding and appreciation that transcends audience demographics.
Take a bow, Mr. Staples.

I gotta say, The Vince Staples show is a future classic in the making! To me, it takes inspiration from classic Black sitcoms like Martin and The Jamie Foxx Show in terms of its sitcom-like scenarios as well as animated series like The Boondocks with its quizzical deconstruction of the African American experience. Don't let the heavy subtext scare you though, even to a causal audience, this show is too funny.
Building on top of the YouTube miniseries, The Vince Staples show on Netflix acts like a sort of continuation of that random comedy we've come to know and love from the rapper. Being both socially aware and outwardly cartoonish, the social commentary is cool and thought-provoking, without being too preachy.
The show's, witty dialogue in this show is on point! It'll have you laughing and nodding along. The storytelling style is unique too, kind of like Twin Peaks or an anthology series. And Vince Staples himself? He's got that deadpan comedic timing down perfectly. Episode 2 had me laughing out loud and it's a great introduction to the show's comedy style.
I really hope they bring this show back for another season, because it's too good to miss and doesn't overstay its welcome. My only hope is that the second season (it goes ahead) is longer than five episodes.

Clearly this show is intriguing, and yet oddly satisfying. With so many screens today displaying (no pun intended) a higher fantasy way of a regular guy from the hood life, it's obvious that Vince Staples hasn't erased the big picture of it all. My advice when watching this series is to remember that even though some may see it as a similar show that's already on the air, you have to realize that every hood, city, state, environment is different. It may look the same, but The Vince Staples Show is from Vince's own perspective on his life... No other show can do it better than him. So no, it isn't similar, it's Vince. A lot of real life choices are shown in each episode from everyday people, which many can relate to. If you're not loving this series because you can't relate to it, that doesn't take away the fact that it is indeed good.
It's good to change it up every once in a while, and this change was needed. Let's take a break from expensive heists that normal guys don't do in the city for trillion dollar diamonds, and bring the reality of the nitty gritty.
