Simona Kossak was a Polish scientist. She fought for nature all her life, conducted research and wrote books on nature. She was not very well-known, which is a pity because she is a fascinating character. The situation changed after her death, Simona was somehow rediscovered. A documentary film was made about her and now a feature film. And rightly so because she is perfect for a modern heroine.
I read her books about 10 years ago, she is a character I know. I had high expectations for this film.
Unfortunately, the creators did not use the potential.
The film focuses largely on unhealthy family relationships and political corruption of foresters. Agata Kulesza deserves special recognition in the role of the toxic mother.
Unfortunately, the film itself goes a bit too fast and a bit too "in a pop rhythm". And above all, it ends suddenly for no reason, just like the next episode was supposed to be. But this is not a series. Perhaps it should be a series because the Polish researcher has fought many battles in her life for every animal and every plant. She lost many of them.
To sum up, I give it six stars because it is a fascinating character and it is worth knowing about it outside of Poland. Unfortunately, as a biography, the film is weak.
