Best friends Timmy (Stephen Odubola) and Marco (Micheal Ward) go to the same high school in Peckham, but live in neighboring London boroughs. When Marco's beaten up by one of Timmy's primary school friends the two boys wind up on rival sides of a never-ending cycle of gang war in which there are no winners ... only victims.

Anecdotes
During its UK opening weekend a riot occurred at a VUE cinema in Birmingham, England, in the middle of a screening (speculation as to whether it was Blue Story (2019) or La reine des Neiges II (2019)). Over 100 people were allegedly involved, including young teenagers armed with machetes. The area was put under lock-down by police armed with tasers. As a result of the riot, VUE (and later Showcase Cinemas) decided to cancel all screenings of Blue Story and blame the violence on the film and the film's message. Further incidents also occurred during opening night, including a machete attack in Huddersfield.

Gaffes
Around the 42'50m mark, Marco (Micheal Ward) has his head bowed forward, just moving his hand away from his face, before cutting to a shot from the other side where his head is leaning backwards.

As a 50 year old man even I thought it was a good film

This film is aimed at a demographic that really isnt well represented at the Cinema and even on main stream TV. The teen to 25 range who over most generations feel isolated from the people older and younger are well represented here.

This is a novel and clever film which mixes a very good plot, good acting with a unique idea of adding grime songs within the scenes to explain the story.

The film is raw and shocking but I think still probably shy's away from the real brutal truth of life on the streets in modern inner City London but for good reason as it doesn't set out to be totally shocking, it just wants to tell a story.

At the core is a good film with a good story and made a different way, for even just that it is worth a watch.
