A nice introduction to the conservation movement in America

Linda Hunt nominates the film which is about three men who pushed for the United States to properly manage and protect the American wilderness. Ultimately, this led to the Wilderness Act of 1964 as well as the creation of organizations aimed at conserving the planet as well as changes in attitude by the public.

Overall, this is an inspiring and worthwhile film to watch. Well made and well within the quality standards of this great series. It also does not come off as preachy...just interesting and a nice overview of the lives of three men who were giants in this movement.

Coincidentally, I watched this on my laptop while I was in the middle of a lengthy trip to eight US national parks. I simply randomly chose to watch the episode...not even realizing its subject matter. Later, released as a weekly installment of "American Experience".
