Clarence's young appearance in this film (as opposed to the elderly Clarence originally portrayed by Henry Travers) is explained by establishing that angels get younger as time goes by (which is why Joseph, although several millennia older than Clarence, appears to be a young teenager).

A factor in the story line that allowed Clarence to be portrayed by a young actor was that angels get younger as time goes by. This could not be possible as, within the Christian faith, God and the angels exist outside of time.

Clarence Is Back...

In a tale not-so-great as "It's a Wonderful Life" by any means, but still a decent family story...

Robert Carradine ("Revenge of the Nerds") stars as Clarence, the angel from "It's A...Life," only this time, he has wings. And as we are all supposed to know, angels of course get YOUNGER as they get older... (nice way to get a younger actor)

Filled with a few laughs, a pretty good actor, and a few other tidbits, Clarence will delight kids for sure. Maybe even adults. 2.5/5 stars-
