Carolyn and her husband/writing partner Christopher Ames currently live in Canyon Country, California. She now runs her own independent insurance brokerage... Life Happens Insurance Solutions. As such, she advises her clients on life, health, disability and annuities. In addition, she is in the final stages of training for the Certified Financial Planning designation. While she's not working as a broker, she sits on the New Members Committee at the WGA. As such, she offers beginning writers her personal and professional expertise on the Guild's benefits, along with basic information regarding how she was able to survive for three decades in Show Biz before having to venture back to the real world. She also attends the local Unitarian Universalist Church and is on the Board of Parkinson's Resource Organization. Carolyn and Chris' daughter, Samantha Shelby Ames, is currently attending George Washington Law School.
