In 1991, a grieving Korean family immigrate to the Canadian prairies to help cull the troubling population of feral dogs, but must confront their own personal trials and tribulations.
Follows Kana as she travels home to Tokyo for the burial after learning of her grandmother's passing. There, she rekindles her romance with her childhood sweetheart, Hiro, and learns a family mystery about her grandfather.
As an Asian family celebrates their daughter's engagement by singing karaoke on stage, a group of racists shout at them. The head of the family sings next, and transforms into "Baba". He finds courage to be the force needed for good.
