The village is reeling from the interview, Maggie's ex-best friend Jill bonds with fellow members of the so-called 'outed-six', including handsome author Marcus. Meanwhile Neil and Kelly embrace what was broadcast and pretend that they're lottery winners. A persistent Maggie refuses to leave Carol's surgery and ends up discovering the real story of the doctor's marriage. Maggie feeling more positive about everything until Jill visits later that evening.

Maggie visits Kelly's salon which leads to Kelly and her husband Neil taking action over their 'lottery win'. At the school, Peter is jittery because of the press interest from Maggie's interview. Alex is surprised at work by two visitors.

Maggie's headmaster husband Peter has to contend with a campaign for his resignation and journalists are calling trying to dig up family skeletons...Fortunately, his ever dependable secretary is watching his back.Money lenders Patrick and Phil are putting pressure on Alex to repay his debts and Marcus and Jill's relationship blossoms when he accompanies her to the 'planning meeting' at the village hall for the village celebrations. Maggie and Peter turn up just as a big family secret is publicly revealed.

Maggie needs time alone and heads to the pub to get a room and ends up finding out landlord Brian's story. Whilst staying late at work, Karen makes a shocking admission to Peter. A desperate Alex terrifies Roxanna and Josh.

Maggie is only concerned with re-uniting with her own family and heads to the celebrations with Becka to meet them. As all the villagers gather for the fete, a sudden shocking series of events are put in motion that could potentially cost the life of one beloved character and change everyone else's in Thurlbury forever.

For Alice, Harry and their daughter, Charlotte, moving into their new home should have been a dream come true. But it quickly turns into a nightmare when Alice discovers Harry dead at the bottom of the stairs.

Alice has to arrange a funeral for the man she loved, but can't bear the thought of him in a graveyard, and so finds herself at loggerheads with Minnie and Gerry over what Harry would have wanted.

Charlotte decides to return to school, but Alice feels lost without her. Before the inquest can go ahead, the police must identify the figure on the CCTV, but with George being so evasive Alice has to go behind his back.

Alice's decision to try for a baby using the sperm Harry stored before he died is met with doubts from Charlotte and Sarah.

With a newfound confidence Alice is determined to develop Harry's land..

There is excitement at the approaching May Day Fair, but Mariette drops a bombshell and the tax man comes calling.

With their wit, charm and a little bit of cunning, the Larkins woo Charley the Tax man. Mariette agrees to put her plans on hold and stay free for the summer.

Ma is worried that Pop is working too hard and books a weekend in Margate, leaving Charley and Mariette to mind the kids. Margate, however threatens to be a let-down.

News reaches Pop that the train station is to close. With the help of reluctant Miss Chand and villagers, Pop seizes the opportunity to save the railway - and make money along the way. Mariette fights with Pauline, and Charley makes a big decision.

With the imminent arrival of her sister, Ma is beside herself and cleaning like a demon.

The Larkins dash to the railway station and manage to stall Mariette's departure to France. They convince her to stay for a donkey derby/gymkhana and cocktail party in a few days.

Charley's parents come to visit the Larkins, but a quiet and respectful dinner plan goes awry when the village suffers a power cut.
