Virginia Tech Women’s Basketball Defeats the Elon Phoenix: 87-69

Saturday featured a very good note for Tech’s sports programs. The Lady Hokies hosted the Elon Phoenix for a non-conference game and put up some amazing personal bests. Rose Micheaux Triple-Doubles. Carleigh, Matilda, Mackie in double figures. Lots of challenges, but Tech just kept up the pressure. GO HOKIES!!!

Virginia Tech Hokies Women’s Basketball Defeats Rutgers Scarlet Knights: 91-80

The Lady Scarlet Knights came down to Blacksburg looking to stay undefeated. The Lady Hokies did not oblige them. It was tight the entire game until Tech broke it open in the 4th. 4 Tech players in double figures. Quality Win #1. GO HOKIES!!!

Virginia Tech Hokies Women’s Basketball Speeds by Coppin State: 86-51

It was a Rose Micheaux power show with the first Double-Double of the season for the team, and she led the way for a dominant win featuring bast breaks, pounding the boards, and offensive put-backs. Coach Duffy empties the bench. GO HOKIES!!!!

Virginia Tech Hokie Women’s Basketball Defeats UNC-Ashville: 85-62

Ashville was a scrappy team, and it took a few minutes for the Hokies to warm up, but 5 players in double figures (Carleigh Wenzel and Samyha Suffren have career-high nights) Tech just pushed off and ran away with it. GO HOKIES!!!

Virginia Tech Hokies Women’s Basketball Fades Late Against the Iowa Lady Hawkeyes: 52-71

This was going to be a tough season, and this opener at the Ally Tipoff in Charlotte was going to be an especially difficult start. The Hawkeyes didn’t have Clark, but their team is intact and coaching the same. It showed by the end of the game. The outcome wasn’t unexpected but still offers something to learn. GO HOKIES!!!
