I am so close to losing all patience. This is the worst I've felt about our sad state of affairs since Year 20 of the You Know What.
I've avoided all temptations to switch allegiances. Contrary to some opinions, I can't stand losing, and I tolerate organizational incompetence even less.
With that background, I've found my way to be understanding.
First, I recognize that Huntington and company faced the same challenges and it took six years for him to do much. In this past pre-season, I predicted 78 wins; an improvement of two over 2023. I don't think that this was an unreasonable expectation. I wasn't the "highest" predicting fan and I wasn't the "lowest."
This morning, I went back to examine Hungtington's time. Leading up to good results, we had win totals of 57, then 72, and 79 wins until we reached 94. You can see the progress along the journey.
This year appears likely to be a step in reverse from last year. That has me very concerned; magnified by the perceived weakened division. Opponents aren't likely to wait for us to pick it up.
