An Era Passes, Quietly

Al Yellon created Bleed Cubbie Blue and has been its managing editor since 2005. He's also written three books about the Cubs, the latest is "Chicago Cubs Firsts."

Just perusing the Cubs' 40-man roster, I noticed something that's significant... well, to me, at least.

Unless the Cubs acquire, before Opening Day, anyone who's about 38 years old or older (not bloody likely, nor should they be looking in that area!), this will be the first year where everyone on the roster will have been born after the 1960's.

And the last Cub to have been born IN the 1960's?

Greg Maddux.
