THE GOAT

Hello everyone. This topic is really a mess and can be debated forever without a outcome. But we as humans do like to get through the toughest of problems nature has asked us. This problem is asked by nature through the likes of immortal football talents like Messi, Ronaldo, Pele and Maradona.

So lets try to break it step by step.

THE ERAS

Many people claim that the players in different eras cannot be compared. It is true that players like Maradone were less protected. The were more likely to go through a rough tackle and hence were more injury prone. But players in the modern era are absolute machines. Their diets are very difficult to follow. The clubs employing them and more over the fans demand god level professionalism. Every move of theirs is under watch. Players before were not supposed to go through all this. And then there is the argument that pitches were worse then. This arguement arises through the complaints of modern day great clubs who complain about pitches while playing in cup competitions. We need to get that they complain because their players are used to playing on better pitches. Back then all the clubs had the same quality pitches. Also these days players go through immense mental pressure as the media keeps watch on them. And if that is not enough then social media will definitely do it. So we can conclude that the modern generation producea true contenders for the GOAT.

ATTACK VS DEFENCE

Both are important for a team. A team cannot function without either of those. There is this ever existing allegation that defenders are not given enough credit, that players like Carlos and Maldini are more than what they are portrayed. And I agree with it. These walls also bring great leadership with them. But again here is were we being humans helps to solve this. What do we see football for? Obviously for watching the we team support win. But there is a more deeper reason. We watch to entertain ourselves. Falling in love with one of the clubs is just the effect. So what would we like to see? A man trying desperately to win back the ball from another pushing him or a man weaving the ball through others legs and effortlessly putting it at the back of the net. I am sure most of you would love the latter. Also I feel that defenders are more of a technical part of the game. They are part of the evolution. Carrying the ball forward is were the sport has its heart. So we should now search for our goat in the modern day attcking players.

THE CONCLUSION

The above sections have narrowed our list. I guess here is were people narrow it down to two immortals. I am also going to do the same. Messi vs Ronaldo. Now here people might throw in some stats and this way it becomes much more complicated. One is better at something than the other. Also their way is in much contrast to each other. But Messi's abilities are quiet unbelievable. He dribbles past defenders at will. Nutmegs them for fun. He scores huge amount of goals and all of them have their own essence. Ronaldo on the other hand perfectly symbolises the modern day football player. He trains like he does it for his life. He is so very professional and is always full of confidence. Here is where personal opinions come into play. People get divided and even go to war to prove themselves right. I personally prefer Ron. Messi was sent by the almighty on this planet to play football. He has got nuclear talent. I am not trying to take his hardwork away but he is so talented. He is so very natural. Ronaldo inspires me everday. He makes me believe that everything is possible by immense dedication. He makes it possible to reach unatural heights by normal abilities. He makes me believe that we can be that close to perfection. Messi is just another level. He is as they say 'Messi class'. So its upto you to pick it from these two. But enjoy them. Do not fight for the sake of it. Be thankful that we have both of them together.
