I don’t know what I’d do.

I have some guesses.

  • Change around the batting order. Springer isn’t getting on base at all. Bo seems lost. I’d put Vlad at the top of the order. He’s getting on base lately. Turner third. Schneider cleanup. Daulton second. Danny fifth. Clement after that. And let the rest fall where they will.
  • This does explain some of last night:

But Swanson needs to go on the IL. Of course, Mayza and Cabrera weren’t any better last night. And Pearson hasn’t been good since coming back from Buffalo. At the moment, I’d only trust Romano and maybe Pop. Richards has been ok. And Little hasn’t thrown enough to trust.

Bullpens are weird. Last year, our bullpen was great. This year, with pretty much the same guys, it is terrible.

  • The offensive coordinator thing doesn’t seem to be working. I’d likely give it another month because what else are you going to do? I’d suggest pairing down the hitting coach staff. Let’s pick one or two guys and have them be the only ones to talk to the hitters. Maybe bring someone in from the outside to watch games and give thoughts.
  • I’d love to call Orelvis Martinez up. Put him at second base and have him play there every day. Don’t give him 15 at-bats over 2 weeks and then send him down because he’s not hitting. Put IKF in a defensive replacement role for a bit. Clement at third. Schneider in left. Just run like that for a while. It can’t get much worse.

Anyway, I’m sure it wouldn’t cause us to be good, but try something.
