Sunday is generally a quiet transactions day for MLB. The only real thing to come out of today is the 154-game proposal floating around, to which I will just reiterate: hold the line, no expanded playoffs. Other than that, well, we will just have to wait and see.

I still can’t get over how bad idea central the whole Joc Pederson saga has been. Not just that the Braves didn’t sign him, but the whole thing: him signing notably way under market, his bonkers plan to face lefties, a team agreeing to it, etc. It’s possible that Pederson may prove me wrong, or that the Cubs won’t go along with his requests after a certain point, but usually you don’t see players asking teams to let them do something that seems primed to harm their value rather than enhance it. It’ll be an intriguing thing to watch in 2021 provided that it happens, that’s for sure. Though I would’ve rather watched it on the Braves.
