- Reviewed in Canada on April 22, 2024Verified PurchaseThey worked great for me. It took maybe 5 minutes to solder on all the pin headers for each board and I am definitely not an expert.
For reference, the price when I bought these was $31.04. I know there tends to be fluctuation in prices right now. I'll happily pay the overhead rather than waiting 3 months for Ali.
I used the Leonardo board setting in the Arduino IDE with no issues.
- Reviewed in Canada on January 21, 2021Verified PurchaseUpdate: seller got back to me, and refunded the damaged micro. This is definitely the best arduino that I have purchased, and I have brought my rating from 4 to 5.
Two of my three micros were either damaged, or missing something.
One of my Pro micros came with a connector damaged. The connector must have been squashed during shipping, and it had to be re shaped to allow a micro b cable to fit into it. luckily I only plan on using the connector once, because my project has its own power supply.
Another of my Micros didn't come with half the pins. They just straight up didn't include them. I wasn't planning on using them anyway though.
I got lucky. They still perform well, and do what I want them to do. someone else might have the same problems as me, but it might not work for their use cases.
I'm giving it two stars because they still work for my use case, and they do their job. The manufacturer just ships them in bubble wrap, thus they are easier to damage.
I contacted the seller and they refunded me for the damage. so I was very grateful for that.
- Reviewed in Canada on July 5, 2024Verified PurchaseI've used 9 of these bad boys in my projects, and they seem to be holding up well. My only real issue is that the usb ports are fairly fragile and can break off as noted by some others.
The port itself and the pcb are solid; the break seems to happen consistently at the solder joint on either side after repeated movement causes the metal to work-harden and become brittle. The solution I've found to work best is to add a decent sized bead of lead based solder to both add a bit of pliability to the metal and add more material to reinforce the joint
- Reviewed in Canada on November 2, 2023Verified PurchaseUsed to make programmable keyboard HID.
- Reviewed in Canada on May 31, 2020Verified PurchaseThese work great and are the same quality as basically every other Pro Micro. Work great, have used tons in keyboard converters and controllers and whatnot. Work great, never had a single one fail on me and I have probably use a dozen in the last 8 months. Certainly marked up over China but it's not that bad and it's nice that I just wait a few days for it to arrive instead of months.
- Reviewed in Canada on November 1, 2022Verified PurchaseI've used more Arduino versions than I can name and this is the first time I bricked one with code (simple blink program at that). DO NOT try using Leonardo as the board option, download the specific Pro Micro drivers. Works fine if you don't do something stupid on somebody else's advice...
- Reviewed in Canada on December 8, 2020Verified PurchaseI bought this Pro Micro 3-pack as I was soon to use 2 of them for upcoming keyboard builds. So at $20.99 (at time of purchase) this felt like good value.
Reading the previous reviews I was aware of the issue of the micro USB plugin being poorly attached. So I was mindful of this when plugging in and out. However, even with the minimal required applied force, the port broke off at the soldering points. I thought some people were being excessively forceful but this is not the case, they are just not well attached.
Now since you have to solder this pro micro regardless, do yourself a favor and solder the contact points on both sides (shown in image where mine broke) as well, doing so will secure it in place. Once done you should not have that issue.
So while it seems like good value there are drawbacks, which fortunately are addressable, but something to keep in mind.

Images in this review - Reviewed in Canada on November 18, 2019Verified PurchaseAll 3 worked with my Windows 10 laptop. I am using them to setup Chromebooks out of the box with Centipede using the Arduino IDE from the Windows store. However just a note, I did try them on my MacBook PRO running Catalina and the IDE could not find the board, I did some searching and it appears to be a known issue with Catalina. I am happy with the boards and at $20 for 3 it was a great price.

5.0 out of 5 stars I like this little board
Verified PurchaseI have tried all 3 out of 3 boards in the package and I love this little guy. The board is very small. The pictures do not do the board justice. If you have a breadboard, count out 12 pins and that is how long the board is. And the width is about 5 pins wide.
Unlike other reviewers, I would not recommend swapping bootloader from Leonardo. I just selected Arduino Leonardo in the Tools menu and the board worked perfectly. The board is programmed with the original Leonardo bootloader, which I verified by reading it and comparing the hash.
If you want to test the board just search for "arduino pro micro blink sketch". I included link before by Amazon did not approve my review. You can get the example from the Sparkfun site.
If your board suddenly stops registering COM port just short Reset to Ground and when Arduino IDE says "Uploading...", remove the short. The bootloader stays up for about 8 seconds and IDE has plenty of time to upload the sketch.
As for the rough board edges, I used 400 grit sandpaper and couple of passes over the edges made them smooth. Roughness is a normal byproduct of PCB cutting process.
There is enough IO pins for small projects and even a larger one as long as you don't need large amount of IO. I would definitely consider this board for my next project.
As some reviewers mentioned USB connector on one of my board is pointing slightly up. This does not interfere in any way with the operation. I would say it is not the best PCB assembly that I have seen but feel free to get one from SparkFun for 3x the cost.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product, consistent, and performed as expected
Verified PurchaseI used the 3 pack KeeYees ProMicro to build 3 separate usb button boxes for various pc games and applications.
All 3 were uniform, solder joints were clean and open, and all 3 performed as expected. I had no issues connecting them to my pc, uploading sketches, or any type of other complications.
I have used one of these personally for upwards of 10 hours in a single session with no missed inputs, latency issues, or any other issues. The other 2 I gifted to friends but haven't heard any complaints. The button boxes utilize toggles switches, momentary switches, 3 way momentary switches, and rotary dials. The boards had no issues with any of these or the combination of all of them.
If you are looking for an arduino leonardo/pro micro you have found your board.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works just like the Micro!
Verified PurchaseI had a lot of trouble uploading to this arduino clone; 9/10 of my spare USB cables refused to connect to it at all. The one that works is now permanantly embedded in a dance pad thats operating flawlessly at 1000hz.
I guess I own a lot of super-cheap USB cables. I've never had problems with them before; I re-wired the working one to an extension and it works great. The other cables have all 4 pins working, and with a similar resistance value to the one that's embedded... I really have no idea why it's so picky about USB cables. Either way, the product does work!
It's thin, doesn't run warm, and hasn't sheered on it's own, so I gave a 1/5 on "thickness, warmth, and sheerness". Hope that doesn't decrease the product's rating; those are technically good things about it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Re-flow the USB solder joints if you will be plugging and unplugging them
Verified PurchaseVery handy boards for when you want to program something to be HID compatible like a joystick or a keyboard, programs the same way an arduino leonardo does.
The only problem i had was after about 30 times of unplugging and plugging in the USB micro cable the solder joints for the USB socket failed, and i had already applied hot glue to the back of the USB socket to help it withstand repeated insertions of the plug.
This was easily rectified by re-flowing the joints, and on inspecting an unused board i could see that very little solder was on the USB socket.
