Molecular mechanisms of splice site recognition

The RNA sequences that distinguish between exons and introns (the splice sites) are very diverse. We study how protein and ribonucleoprotein complexes identify and proofread these sequences. We also study the possible role of chromatin and epigenetic modifications in splicing regulation.
