Defensive struggles have been noticeable, and missing key players has limited the Bengals' ability to close out games. Their Week 5 loss to the Ravens in overtime highlighted these defensive issues.

Coaching and Play-calling Concerns: Head coach Zac Taylor has faced criticism for some questionable decision-making and play-calling. After the loss to the Ravens, there was open dissatisfaction from players regarding the conservative calls late in games, and Taylor himself admitted to not putting the team in the best position to win.
