What we needed

I initially adopted Codio for my ITCS 140: Introduction to Programming and Logic course due to the auto-grading, content authoring and customization, and LMS integration capabilities.

Why we chose Codio

The repetition and the completion of small problems really helps students grasp the important concepts of programming, and grading all of these presents some challenges. The connection to Canvas is also very important. 

 

Additionally, I struggled with finding relevant textbooks. Many wanted to include math skills that were far beyond what a majority of our students could understand. I love the ability to customize Codio's course content. I had used another similar platform but it didn't offer me the flexibility to write my own content. I really like writing my own content.

Future Plans for Codio

Going forward

I plan on revising more of my content for ITCS 1140 and start working on new content for ITCS 1170 Database Design and Implementation using SQL. I'm excited about using Codio for my database class.
