ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Maryland Judiciary redesigned its website as a part of its commitment to stay current with technology trends. The new website, which launched last week, is more mobile-user friendly and will allow for the Judiciary to better serve and communicate with the public.
One of the main features of the new design is a consolidated court forms page. It will serve as a “one-stop” site where people can search and find various court forms, including record expungement requests, peace and protective orders, and landlord-tenant issues.
The new website exceeds federal standards for accessibility. Its modern, colorful design is more user-friendly and welcoming and includes clearly marked sections to help visitors quickly find the information they need. In addition, the new site can be viewed and navigated more easily on smartphones and tablets.
“The Maryland Judiciary website is the portal to courts throughout the state and provides information about a wide range of topics,” said State Court Administrator Pamela Harris. “The website is the first place that many people go to for information and answers they need about courts, court processes, and legal matters. This redesign was undertaken with the public in mind and will provide visitors with a better experience. Also, the site is engineered to make it easier to keep information updated and relevant. This new design helps us improve access to justice, be responsive to changing community needs, communicate effectively, and assure the highest level of service.”
