(UPPER MARLBORO, Md - February 27, 2015 - Updated) Below are the latest updates for the Prince George’s County Circuit Court and District Court.

Circuit Court:
The Prince George’s County Circuit Court in Upper Marlboro is fully operational on Monday, March 9, including all wings of the courthouse building, the Judiciary Services Building and the ADR unit. The Circuit Court Clerk’s Office is also operating under normal business hours, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., in Upper Marlboro.

District Court:

The Upper Marlboro location of the District Court remains closed on Monday, but is expected to fully open on Tuesday. District Court cases that were scheduled to be heard in Upper Marlboro while the courthouse has been closed for repairs will be rescheduled. You will be notified via U.S. mail of your new court date.

The Hyattsville location of the District Court (4990 Rhode Island Avenue) continues to be open to the public. District Court filings may only be made in person at the Hyattsville courthouse until the Upper Marlboro location re-opens.

If you had an INTERIM protective order case scheduled for Thursday, March 5th or Friday, March 6, your case will be heard on Monday, March 9 at the same time in the same courtroom.

If you had a FINAL peace order scheduled for Thursday, March 5th or Friday, March 6 that was cancelled because of the snow, your case will be heard on Tuesday, March 10 at the same time and in the same courtroom.

Mental Health Court (jail cases) – NOTE: If the your case was scheduled for Thursday, March 5th or Tuesday, March 10, your case will be heard on Monday, March 9 at the Prince George’s County Detention Center located at 13400 Dille Drive, Upper Marlboro, MD at 9:00 a.m.

Mental Health Court Walk – ins – If you are a walk-in for the Mental Health Court and your case was scheduled to be heard at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, February 19th, Tuesday, February 24th, Thursday, February 26th, Tuesday, March 3rd or Thursday, March 5th, your case has been rescheduled to Tuesday, March 10th and was canceled due to the closure of the Upper Marlboro Courthouse, you will be contacted by phone with your new court time of either 8:45 a.m. or 1:15 p.m. If your case was originally scheduled to be heard on Tuesday, March 10th, your case will still be heard at the same time.

NOTE: Some Upper Marlboro cases have been rescheduled to be heard at Hyattsville. Please see the SCHEDULE for information about your courtroom.

All new domestic violence petitions can be filed at the Circuit Court in Upper Marlboro or the Hyattsville District Court location until the District Court Upper Marlboro location re-opens. Once the District Court Upper Marlboro location is fully operational, these petitions can be filed at either District Court location or at the Circuit Court.
