Local Veterans Honored by Circuit Court for Prince George’s County

(UPPER MARLBORO, Md. – May 1, 2014) The Circuit Court for Prince George’s County will hold its 5th Annual Veterans Appreciation Ceremony and Muster Thursday, May 22, at 9:30 a.m. at the Prince George’s County Courthouse, 14735 Main St., Upper Marlboro.

“We are so pleased that this has grown to become a much-anticipated commemorative celebration for our veterans of this county. Please join us for this year’s celebration as we honor our wounded warriors and pause to thank those who have dedicated their lives to our country and county,” said Judge Sheila R. Tillerson Adams, Administrative Judge for Prince George’s County and the Seventh Judicial Circuit. “Prince George’s County is very proud of the outstanding men and women who serve our county and our country. This ceremony is a way for us all to gather to give thanks for their service and honor them for their selfless dedication.”

The Veterans Appreciation Ceremony and Muster will be held on the lawn of the historic Duvall Wing of the courthouse. The United States Air Force Band and a vocalist will be on hand for the celebration. The event is free and light refreshments will be served before the ceremony.

To prepare for this event, the court is calling on veterans in Prince George’s County to submit photos and information about their service to be included in a video. To submit photos and information by May 16, go to the Prince George’s County website, www.princegeorgescountymd.gov, click on “Circuit Court” and then “Veterans Appreciation” under “Top Links,” and follow the link at the bottom of the page.
