Nightmare Imaging Device
From Transformers Wiki
- The Nightmare Imaging Device is a device from the Rescue Bots portion of the Aligned continuity family.
The Nightmare Imaging Device allows the user to confront the subject of their nightmares in reality and realize that whatever it is they were dreaming about is not so bad after all. The user dozes in a special sleep chamber while wearing a neural impulse helmet, and the energy chamber creates whatever they were dreaming about using energy and suspended crystal particles, creating something like a solid hologram.
Clearly this is a great idea with which nothing could possibly go wrong.

Doc Greene invented the device and successfully used it to cure his own nightmares. When Kade Burns had similar problems, he went to Doc Greene looking for help, and also tried the machine. Unfortunately the gremlins created from Kade's dreams broke free of the energy chamber and began rampaging around the laboratory. Though the gremlins created had limited energy and at first simply began to disappear, they soon found a way to sustain themselves by drawing energy from technology. When the entire affair was over, Kade suggested Cody tell Doc Greene to consign the invention to the Best Left Forgotten section of the Hall of Inspiration. Blame the Gremlins
Instead Doc Greene worked to make the machine more powerful, until it was able to materialize objects even when the subject was still awake. As he'd been thinking of Mister Pettypaws, the machine produced a multitude of kitties, and Greene attached energy collars to them to stop them from disappearing. He later attempted to demonstrate the machine on Kade, only to blow one of the lab's fuses. Once the fuse was replaced, the Imaging Device produced four copies of Kade. Too Many Kades
