Mark and J.D. had planned their criminal career in painstaking detail: Mark was to steal his father's gun while J.D. would acquire them some wheels. After J.D. found an old battered Corvette in an alleyway, Mark waited outside in the car while J.D. held up a supermarket. The stick-up was successful and the two friends travelled east, committing a further string of robberies across New York.
A small boy saw Mark and J.D. parking outside a bank and, recognising the insignia on Tracks's hood, followed them inside. This distracted the robbers long enough for one of the cashiers to sound an alarm so, surprising Mark, J.D. revealed he was carrying a bomb. They took the boy hostage and waited as the police surrounded the bank, but it was the arrival of three Autobots—Hoist, Inferno and Grapple—that shocked J.D. into accidentally setting off the bomb.
After the ensuing explosion and fire, the Autobots recovered Mark from the building and handed him over to the police. Missing in Action
