Darklon (G1)

The Darklon is a spaceship from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Despite not being one of the best maintained ships out there, the Darklon is a particularly well-constructed freighter—better than many Elite Guard ships anyway. Rumbler even thinks it could out-fly the Beast With Wings. Its computer is extraordinarily smart, or so Sprocket claims.

After being officially decommissioned, the Darklon was run exclusively by pirates, bounty hunters, and other unsavory types. Twelve stellar cycles later, it was in the hands of Breakaway. Requiring a spaceship as part of an Elite Guard mission, Powerflash requisitioned some funds (by forging Sentinel Major's signature) and purchased the ship from Breakaway for a bargain price. Sprocket claimed to be able to talk to the ship's computer and that it had agreed to follow the orders of the Autobots. The team posed as Neutrals and offered the use of the Darklon to Gutcruncher's band of Decepticons who were in search of a particular asteroid. After lift off, the Decepticons were subdued and locked in the brig, for them to escape. Gutcruncher wired a bomb into the ship's systems while his men raided the armory. Following a visit to a Nucleon deposit on the asteroid, the Autobots managed to again subdue most of the Decepticons. Gutcruncher attempted to activate the Darklon's auto-defense systems, which Sprocket later claimed was because the computer didn't want to follow the Decepticon's orders. Gutcruncher then tried to activate his bomb to destroy the ship, but Tap-Out had already ejected the bomb from the ship. The Autobots returned to Cybertron in the Darklon with their captives.
