General Motors
From Transformers Wiki
- General Motors is an automobile company from the Generation 1, Movie, and real world continuity families.
General Motors Company, also known as GM, is the largest auto company headquartered in the United States of America. Founded in 1908 in Flint, Michigan, the company is headquartered in Detroit, Michigan at present and presumably in the near future.[1] The company's U.S. brands have included Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Hummer, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Geo, Saturn, Buick and more. Currently GM's U.S. brands are down to Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, and Buick.
On June 1, 2009, General Motors filed for US government-assisted bankruptcy protection with plans to emerge as a smaller, less debt-riddled company.

Transformers: Rise of the Chevy Autobots
A small army of mass-produced Autobots are on Earth disguised as Chevy brand vehicles, under the command of Bumblebee. They must stop the Decepticon Mainframe, who eventually ended up on Earth after being exiled for a failed attempt to overthrow Megatron on Cybertron.
A General Motors scientist, Dina Morgan, made contact with the Autobots Flash and Ridge, and learnt about energon. She said in a report that energon could be the fuel of the 21st Century, but that got her targeted by Mainframe. She was used as bait to lure Bumblebee into a trap. Transformers (2007)
- Jazz (2007 Pontiac Solstice)
- In association with Hasbro, DreamWorks, and GM (whew), Maxim magazine held a "Win Jazz" contest where one lucky reader would win a silver 2007 Pontiac Solstice equipped with the options used for Jazz in Transformers, including the custom hardtop and spoiler otherwise never available on the 2007 model.
- GMC Topkick 4500 Ironhide Edition (model year 2008)
- This was a production line variant of the GMC Topkick C4500 crew cab medium-duty truck in black with the modifications Dreamworks made for the character Ironhide, though it retains the stock large side-view mirrors and orange lights. The modifications were done by Monroe Truck Equipment.
- Production on the GMC Topkick truck ceased when General Motors exited the medium-duty truck market in 2009.
Revenge of the Fallen
- Chevrolet Camaro Transformers Special Edition (2009)
- Starting June 1, 2009, Chevrolet began taking orders for the Bumblebee Edition package for the 2009/2010 Chevy Camaro. The package consists of Rally Yellow exterior color with black "Bumblebee" stripes and "Transformers" badging on the wheel center caps, sill plates and embroidered console lid. The package was available for Camaro LT and SS models.
- Production of the Transformers Special Edition ceased on January 12, 2010, and with an estimated 1,500 Camaro to have been produced straight from order workbenches.[2] Though production for this full package (with an order of a new Camaro) has ceased, the individual parts that made up the package can still be purchased through authorised GM accessory dealers. However, inspection of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) would reveal if the Camaro was a true Transformers Special Edition or an after-market clone.
Dark of the Moon
- Chevrolet Camaro 2012 Transformers Special Edition (2011)
- In conjunction with Dark of the Moon, Chevrolet began taking orders for the 2012 Transformers Special Edition package for the Chevy Camaro in July, 2011, with vehicles arriving at dealers in the U.S. and Canada in September of the same year. Based upon the Bumblebee Camaro prop as it appears in Dark of the Moon, the package consists of Rally Yellow exterior color with black rally stripes that stretch over the hood, roof, decklid and a Dark of the Moon -inspired high-wing rear spoiler; 20-inch, black-painted wheels with performance tires, and Autobot Shield logos on the center caps and front quarter panels.
- Inside, the package has a black leather interior accented with yellow stitching on the instrument panel, center console, armrests and seats. Autobot Shield logos are embroidered on the front headrests, as well as the center console lid.
- Additionally, two dealer-installed options are available: exclusive, 21-inch, black-painted wheels and a black ground-effects package.
- Chevrolet Spark Transformers Edition (2011)
- Produced in a limited run of 1000 units for the South Korean market, the Chevrolet Spark Transformers Edition features a black paint scheme with orange racing stripes based upon Mudflap's prop (that was cut from) Dark of the Moon, an aero kit with side skirts, 15-inch glossy black wheels, and various Autobot and Transformers sigils and branding.
- Pricing in South Korea was announced at 11,823.00 won for a manual transmission or 13,326.00 for an automatic.
Notes
- Generation 1 Megatron would have been a licensed Cadillac XLR in the Alternators line had sales justified more toys for 2007.
- Unusual for a car manufacturer, the GM company store carries a selection of some of the licensed toys produced for the live action films. [3]
