Chief of Russia’s General Staff visits Battlegroup Center command post

Upon completion of his work, Valery Gerasimov summed up interim results with military commanders of the Battlegroup Center and assigned them objectives for further actions, the Russian Defense Ministry said

MOSCOW, January 21. /TASS/. Chief of Russia’s General Staff Army General Valery Gerasimov visited a command post of the Battlegroup Center accomplishing combat objectives in the Krasnoarmeisk frontline area in the Donbass region, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday.

"Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, First Deputy Defense Minister Army General Valery Gerasimov visited a tank division and a motorized infantry brigade of the Battlegroup Center accomplishing combat objectives in the Krasnoarmeisk direction in the special military operation. <…> During the inspection, Army General Valery Gerasimov listened to reports by the commander of the Battlegroup Center, commanders of large units and other military officials on the pace of accomplishing objectives in their area of responsibility," the ministry said in a statement.

Upon completion of his work, the chief of the General Staff summed up interim results with military commanders of the Battlegroup Center and assigned them objectives for further actions, it said.

At forward command posts of Battlegroup Center units, the chief of the Russian General Staff handed in state awards to the service members who had distinguished themselves in liberating communities in the Donetsk People’s Republic and "thanked them for their valor and courage displayed in accomplishing combat objectives," the ministry said.

As the Russian Defense Ministry reported, motor rifle, artillery and armored units of the Battlegroup Center continue crushing Ukrainian armed formations and liberating lands of the Donetsk People’s Republic. Assault groups are successfully conducting combat operations against Ukrainian nationalists, gradually driving the enemy out of settlements and fortified areas, edging it out, seizing trophies and capturing adversary troops.
