"The situation in Ukraine is complex and difficult, and it’s one that is going to require a lot of work, a lot of hard diplomacy. It’s a war the president’s made clear he wants to see end," he pointed out in an interview with the NewsNation cable news network.

US President Donald Trump announced on February 3 that the United States was interested in getting access to Ukraine’s rare-earth elements and would like Kiev to provide relevant guarantees. On February 4, he said that hopefully, a peace agreement would be concluded "at some point in the not-too-distant future.".
