What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

I first used the World Wide Web in Lynx when we were trying to get really good technical environmental information from the US to the former Soviet Union... back in 1994. Happily it soon surpassed those expectations to include all of the good stuff like Metafilter.

My username: my first and middle initial, enough of last name to make eight characters. I've used it for most everything internets, despite occasional yearning for a clever or awesome handle. Maybe in my next life I'll be The Tattooed Lady.
