About
What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
"Naked" is metaphorical (well, there are days when I work in jammies--does that count?); "codemonkey" is an obnoxious name for one d*mn fine occupation, thankyewverymuch.
Started using the 'net in 1990, primarily email and USENET, connecting first through school and then through various dialup BBSs. It was always a blast, especially when it was just a place for us freaks. Then in the mid-90s I hooked up with a great bunch of CompuServe old-timers who were in the habit of holding an annual reunion get together--that was my first major eye-opener. "We can take these online friendships live? That works??" Ohhh yeah. Community is still the Internet's true killer app.
