HELMET HUT REMAINS ROYAL, REGAL, AND RELEVANT!

HELMET HUT is and has always been much more than our surface appearance suggests. While our loyal readers and customers know us as the knowledgeable staff that performs vital numerous “behind the scenes” tasks that make the football and media worlds turn much more happily and efficiently than they otherwise would, we are so much more than that. Yes, it is true that we supply research information and the actual helmets for Hollywood filmmakers, college, pro, state, and school football Halls of Fame, individual institutional displays and official centers, and remain the “go-to guys” when top sportswriters need a helmet or football history factoid to truly separate their articles from the efforts of others. However, our status as well established bon vivants and experts in all matters of current popular culture, fashion, and trend setting allowed us the opportunity to become part of “The Social Event Of The Year.”

Much to the disappointment of the Royal Family, our busy schedules did not allow us to fly our families to England on the Royal Jet and fulfill their request that we attend the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Palace on May 19. We were however, privy to the pre-wedding decision that Queen Elizabeth II would grant new titles to both Harry and Meghan, announcing them as His Royal Highness the Duke and Dutchess of Sussex. It was important that something unique be presented to mark this momentous occasion and be suitable and “classy enough,” on par with the bride’s veil, designed by Givenchy's Clare Waight Keller which featured flora from every single Commonwealth country. Of course, our HELMET HUT crew knew how to turn the heads of the notable guests that included David and Victoria Beckham, Tom Hardy, Serena Williams, George and Amal Clooney, and so many political dignitaries. While we at first believed that the gift was for the groom, we were rather pleased to learn that it was the Royal Bride that was to receive our very special addition to the Royal Gift Table, a reminder of her American home and roots.

The oohs and aahs that emanated from the crowd of onlookers and family members lucky enough to view the bride replacing her veil with our very special three tone painted gift, will hold this Royal Wedding memory above all others.
